We’ve probably lost a handful of games this season not making plays down the stretch.

Unreal...

On the bright side it looks like the team finally got the message that the guys finally got the message that they need to get the ball inside and stop relying on three point shots.

True.

Hoffy had no answers for Telfort and Doherty down in the paint.

I just looked at the box score and was surprised to see that we took twenty one rhrees but when I thought about it some were shot clock beaters and Strong threw up eight of the 21. That's okay with me because he has a history of hitting threes at a high thirties percentage. My message to everyone else all week long would be get the ball to the hoop while telling Strong to take threes if you get good looks. I wonder why he hasn't been getting may minutes lately?

Who is Strong better than? The obvious choice would likely be Stucke, but Stucke at least drives to the basket and he can make 3’s just like Strong. They both are average rebounders and can be streaky.

What's wrong with Walters in your opinions? He has not had any production the last few weeks and hasn't been getting as many touches per game

Ever since he missed the first 4 conference games and then he dropped 23 points his first game back at home vs. Delaware, he’s been horrible.

I don’t know if it was a Covid thing since the team never gave a reason why he missed those games. But he’s scored 13 a few times, otherwise it’s single digits.

Also not having Vito for the rest of the season along with TSG just hasn’t helped Walters either.

Good point. Djogo has, rightfully, taken his minutes. I'm not sure how well that approach works in the tourney where you play every day.....not that I have much hope in the tourney.

When you compare this year's stats to last year's it's a mixed bag. His PPG is up a little, overall shooting percentage is down a little but still good. Three point shooting percentage is down to .35 from .38. Rebounds are off quite a bit. But it's fair to say he was better last year.

We outsiders never have all the facts so all we have is theories. Mine is that taking on point guard duties put too much on his plate. He had a sweet gig last year....let Tyson bring the ball up court and wait for a pass. I think he knows that the PG thing hasn't worked out as well as he hoped and he's probably tired of Telfort shrugging his shoulders every time Walters throws a bad pass to him that results in a turnover. I like Walters a lot but it makes me crazy when he gets the ball into the frontcourt and turns his back to the basket like he's taking time off the clock for a game ending shot...especially when this results in a turnover.

Yay, we won another game. Woohoo!

It’s funny that NU won by 34 and shot just 44% from the floor and took only 3 FT.

Highlights…

RE: 21-22 basketball.
So as far as next year roster spots this is what I’ve heard…

TSG plans to apply for a medical hardship and will try to come back.

McClintock is a walk-on. Not here on a scolly.

So we really don’t have an available scholarship to offer unless someone like Braun, who’s academically eligible to graduate, decided to transfer. Or worse, Telfort, Nwagha or someone else does.

So if we get another opening it’s either for an experienced transfer point guard or a big man. Not both.

Doherty has said he's using his Covid year to come back. Have either Walters or Strong decided?

I guess you didn’t see Saturday’s game.

Walters, Strong (along with Djogo) all took part in senior day festivities pregame. They’re not coming back.

Correct. I don't get that channel. Thanks. That makes things a lot clearer. So, if Glen is a walk-on and Tyreek gets a medical waiver then we are at thirteen. Which would you rat her have..... Tyreek back.......or a transfer big.....or transfer PG?

I’m pretty confident in Cormier’s ability to handle the point.

So if someone leaves, I’d like to get a big.

I'd take the guard for depth even if you told me Cormier turned out to be a success.
I've seen what an absolute disaster a void there can result in and can't live it again

RE: 21-22 basketball.
I haven't made up my mind on my own question, which was ....would you rather have Tyreek back or would you want to fill one of our glaring needs.

As far as bigs go, Chris has been great but when he is injured or in foul trouble we don't have an effective five. Braun doesn't look like the answer and as much as we liked Nwagha's raw talent...after two years it is still raw.

At the PG spot we didn't have one this year. Shaq tried but it was a big ask....a last resort that didn't work. To is nowhere near capable of running the team. I remember an interview Cormier gave last year. He was saying that coaches were telling him that he doesn't have the build to be a two guard and that he should work on point guard skills. I hope he did but he didn't get any gametime at PG this season....at least in the five or six games I saw.

If Glen is a walk-on, which surprises me, then if Tyreek doesn't get his waiver and one underclassmen decides to transfer then we would have a shot at filling both needs.

At the end of the day I think we’ll have two schollys available.

I get the sense we’ll have some players transfer. Let’s just hope one of them isn’t Telfort.

That would be the best outcome for the team.....Tyreek getting his medical waiver and a couple of guys opting to go somewhere that they can get playing time.
