Wonder if any of those whining were actually at the VMI game.

The second half was a bit miserable weather wise, but it was still an entertaining game. The student turnout was impressive to me. We even had some streamers flying.

Looking forward to a good matchup AND nice weather this week. I think we will have a good turnout.

capacity limits or not... I think we're just about at the limits of demand for these 1-week scheduled games. VMI would have drawn more than UND. We still only hit 24% yesterday. The Governor's order won't be the problem for the crowd next weekend. Tickets are out there.

Uhh, that's pretty close to permitted capacity (25%). There were VMI fans that would have attended also if they could have. We could have easily topped 24% with more capacity allowed. I'm actually surprised we didn't report much lower numbers for an ncaa playoff game.

Not sure about this week vs UND, but if we win it, absolutely the next week will sell out (assuming a Sammy loss), and would at 50% also.

yeah but my point is that tickets have been available for both April games so far. Close to the limit, sure. IMO UND on a 6pm Sunday night isn't going to crack 20%. If JMU advances to play NDSU at home, yeah probably all bets off for that game in two weeks. A graduation Saturday football game offers no precedent... I'm not sure if it would draw 5,000 or 25,0000

For DC members only. There were no VMI tickets available for the general public or VMI fans (beyond their block of 500). Not sure if all DC members that requested seats got them or not.

We reported 6,011 at the game. NDSU reported 3,587 for EWU. We could have had more at the VMI game without the limits in my opinion.

Cap for Sunday’s game goes up from 25% (old NCAA limit) to 30% (current VA limit), yes?

Yes, should be true for this game and next, unless a miracle/waiver happens and Virginia lifts the 30% cap sooner.

For anyone else, JMUTickets.com under "single games" should work, or this link: UND Tickets

I don't see it as grumbling but more disappointed because fans can't attend a 6pm Sunday game since the majority of us drive hours to Harrisonburg and we need to be at work Monday morning. The big picture: our game on ESPN 2 is much more meaningful than a few thousand butts in seats (IMHO)

Yeah less of a deal in today’s times - less pans of the crowd in terms of the tv product on games now because of the crowd size limitations due to the pandemic. Nice that we are on ESPN 2 at I think a decent hour for the spring - lot of people home and done with the days activities and about to eat dinner.

Agree about exposure being the most important. But a 6pm kickoff means driving home around 9pm. We should be able to pull alumni from DC & Richmond areas with relative ease. Our 757 brethren will have it rougher. The Richmond & DC alums missing due to Monday morning work are being lame IMO. It’s ok to be a little tired Monday morning.

UND handled SIU and SDSU pretty convincingly (along with MSU), they are no pushovers. We’ve got our work cutout for us this week.
Wonder if it came down to NDSU @ JMU semis on 5/8, there would be any chance to get a waiver for 50% a week early?

Its not like something magic is going to happen between 5/8 and 5/15..

Heck, 30% cap for Sun night game vs UND isn't an issue. Might not even hit that. Its a 30% cap for a potential Sat semifinal vs NDSU that would be an issue. With the students gone, it being Spring, the virus still out there, NDSU not the same NDSU of old, would it come close to a sellout if 100% allowed? No. But could certainly draw more than 50% IMHOP..

Just a warmup for all those fans eager to jump up to FBS, a move to the MAC and a Tuesday night game on ESPN with a few hundred meaningful butts in the seats...03-shhhh

Great D1 Hockey played by UND too. Multiple NCs. The bane of my Dad’s Alma mater Denver.

JMU will have to play it’s best game of the season Sunday if the Dukes are to advance.

So all 4 quarterfinal games are on Sunday.
https://www.ncaa.com/brackets/football/fcs/2021

Anyone seen an explanation for why all these games are on Sunday?

Sunday night game kind of sucks.

NFL draft coverage probably

I guess that makes sense...for ESPN.

I had 2 screens going yesterday to watch the games. The NDSU game was unbearable since Trey Lance got more screen time than a QB who actually plays for the Bizon.

I would think there are some players scheduled to play in these games who might be looking to be drafted in those Saturday rounds, so it only makes sense to give them a chance to watch the Draft instead of having to play that day.

Hope you are going by the score they put on Missouri St Sat night. ND played a team that couldn’t protect the QB. Got many breaks from poor coaching decisions. I think they are on the caliber of Richmond or VMI. we should have a good game but should win this one.
