OT - Euro Football Drama
Looks like this was going to be bigger than any conference realignment, but now the 6 EPL teams are having second thoughts:

Absolute schadenfreude watching this Super League get destroyed in a matter of days. An unashamed cash grab by incredibly out of touch and ultra wealthy owners that completely ignored the cultural and societal connections that these clubs, and the leagues they play in, have with the general population.

The Super League already exists to a certain extent in the Champions League, and domestic leagues are, for the most part, hugely popular. What a bunch of a**holes.

Quote: News then filtered through that the Blues were drawing up documentation to reverse their decision to join, prompting cheers and chants of "We've saved football" from the fans who had been moved around 300 yards away from the stadium's main entrance point.

Perhaps the funniest thing about this all is how pathetic the billionaire owners' resolve is. If you're going to try to launch a billion dollar league that will forever alter the landscape of continental football, at least have some balls and be ready to fight. With the way they're all retreating, you'd think they never even considered the possibility of pushback. Also, whatever PR/consulting firm advised them should take a long inwards look. Because the lack of planning and preparation for a $6 billion project with the biggest names in football is startling.
