Another wrinkle to be added to the MBB hoops scene this fall is Overtime Elite. It is an organization targeting junior and senior elite HS hoops stars. ESPN says OE "plans to offer six-figure finiancial packages and academic tutoring for high school players that join the league." Theoretically taking a whole level of talent for the P5 programs. I am guessing that this might move up a number of G5 players up to the P5 teams. Very interesting to see if this gets traction among these players/families.

Will there be an audience? I won't be watching. It will be sloppy run and gun just like watching a McDonald's All American game. Those always suck.

Will these kids also play HS ball at same time? Can a HS player accept payment? In this day and age it seems that they could and would. Crazy times.

Won't effect the mid majors though unless there is a super stud on a team. What may hurt will be the power 5 teams and some of the mid majors who may miss out on a player who may be recruited by the power 5 then. I hope the NCAA will not permit these players to return if they sign a contract and the league goes bust after say 1 or 2 seasons. streaming these games may be the only way they get TV time, there is too much sports on the ESPNs, and network television for them to care.
