Monday Musings
We wait for the next basketball coach and hope we are not outmaneuvered by the Chippewas for the next star to get us to NCAA glory.
I liked the ACC proposal of an All-In D1 tournament. Seeing some Ray Lee, Glenn Bryant games in the tourney would have been entertaining.
Our Baseball program and the Tigers are kindred spirits. Both struggle with Ohio based teams have a great past but the future is cloudy like this week in Michigan.
The Last time UofM hid their spring game was 2008 and the wolverweinies were 3-9
Coach Prime is learning the Hard way about the grind of the a football season and is on a three game losing streak.
Bobby Petrino is a conference champ.
Finally Congrats to Concordia and good luck in the NAIA tournament for the cardinals, I love their stadium.

Yes it's amazing how Concordia built that program from zero.

And radio silence continues up in Mt. P. I'm surprised if Stephens is really a candidate. The rumor mill in Mt. P OR E. Lansing should be working OT.

WMU doing what Heather did years ago.

https://www.mlive.com/broncos/2021/04/wm...grade.html

Describes how things like new lights get done at univesities. Heather indicate the same. It for us was a maintenance item separate from the athletic department budget.

Curious how WMU uses the private donations through the Mike Gary Athletic Fund to pay for other things discussed in the article.

"It just feels right," Great quote..

It is Jimmy Boeheim joining his father and brother at 'Cuse playing I guess Boeheim ball.

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket...im-boeheim

So next March, BobW will need to distinguish between Buddy Ball, Jimmy Ball, and Boeheim ball (aka the zone).

RE: Monday Musings
Yesterday, Tuesday, not Monday was a weird day for me.

At the next table to me at breakfast were four USCP (U.S. Capitol Police) who have suffered so much this year. Later in the day, was the verdict in Minneapolis.

The human mind has to process all of what is in the world. Sports is generally pretty simple. Zone vs. man to man. Even the university president gets it. 03-lmfao

When I worked, I occasionally (not too often though), had to go the Hart Senate Office Bldg. near where the recent USCP killing happened. I could go from Union Station (subway) via 1st or Delaware Ave (which is where the killing happen).

I remember some of the on air reporters were shaken up by the car ramming killing. This was their beat. The Senate. The House.

Little did I know what would happen in 2021. And little did I know in August 2001 when I had lunch in the Pentagon what would happen a month later.

And me, in my naivete, thought that being around the White House, Pentagon (the police there have Ak-47s in PLAIN SIGHT), and Capitol Hill was the safest place on earth.
