The win moves NU to 24-6 overall and 12-0 in the CAA North.

RE: Hofstra
NU swept a twin bill from Hofstra Saturday 5-3 and 12-5 on Senior Day.

Kyle Murphy got the win (5-0) in Game 1 and Sebastian Keane (4-1) won game 2. Brandon Dufault got his 5th save in Game 1.

Jared Dupere hit his 14th homer of the season, which is tied for fifth in school history.

NU's 14-0 start to CAA play is the best in league history, surpassing UNCW's 13-0 start in 2008 and James Madison's 13-0 start in 1998. The Huskies have an NCAA-leading winning streak 16 and the 26-6 start to the season is the best in program history.

NU looks for the sweep Sunday with Freshman Wyatt Scotti (3-1, 1.61) on the bump.

Saturday: The two teams played a doubleheader as the forecast for Sunday wasn’t good, and NU swept the twinbill and the series.

Game 1 - Hofstra cut the NU lead to 5-4 in the 6th. But in the bottom half of the inning, the Huskies broke it open with 6 runs to go on to win 14-5.

Starter Eric Yost got the win (4-0) tossing 6 innings allowing 11 hits, 4 ER, 0 BB, 3 K’s. 3B Danny Crossen, OF Alex Lane and C Greg Bozzo homered. For Bozzo it was his first collegiate homer.

Game 2 - Once again the story was starting pitching as righty Jake Gigliotti on short rest, picked up the win (7-0) holding Hofstra to just 2 hits in 6 innings pitched with 8 K’s.

Meanwhile, NU hit 5 homers as Crossen and Lane homered again and Cam Maldonado hit 2 homers. Sirota went deep as well. Maldonado has now set a new program record with 9 homers as a freshman in a season.

NU is back in action on Friday when they host Towson for a weekend series.
