Never any knee problems until I hit 50.
Suddenly had to get the right meniscus trimmed. Working my way back from that ended up causing me to get the left meniscus trimmed, all in a 10 month span.
Now 6 months post surgery on the left knee and I still can’t run.
I guess I’m a cyclist now. I’m currently watching a replay of today’s Tour de France after riding 45 miles this evening.
(I would rather be running)
I rode 33 miles after watching the Tour de France live this morning. My knees are just hereditarily bad since my teen years.

This hit home. At 36, I cringe thinking about getting on a knee now. I could do it, but I wouldn't like it. haha
Each one has been dislocated 3-6 times, Torn ACL, throw in a little Osgood-Schlatter disease, and yeah.. I'm jealous of those guys.
I can't quite relate to those issues but at 53 I'm damn thankful I can still bend and squat down ok. I was a track man in jr. high and high school and I keep thinking those days of running in spikes on those gosh-awful track surfaces in cold weather is going to come back and bite me. Lord willing, old man timex keeps ticking...

I occasionaly jog but it's only on my treadmill to help absorb the pounding on the ankles, shins and knees. Outside, I enjoy brisk walking and my neighborhood has some slopes on the roads so that helps cardio-wise and with muscle burn. Biking and especially swimming are the best exercise modes that minimize wear and tear on the body. At some point, I may turn to those options but I just enjoy walking too much and my knees/lower body can still handle it. I put in my ear buds and off I go...
