Thanks for that clip of "Animal House". Reminds me of my fraternity days at Eastern.
Arm of Honor, right?

Dear Bob,
Bingo! You win a prize. Although, I don't know what it is.

If a crime was committed, I first want to see the transgressor punished to the full extent of the law, like Larry Nassar was at MSU. Criminal courts provide an arena where witnesses are heard and there is a clear burden of proof to establish guilt. Nassar was found guilty and if MSU enabled his behavior, then they are culpable as well, thus liable for financial damages. That is justice.

Unfortunately I have seen a preponderance of civil claims against Michigan Universities since the Nassar debacle, without the victims pursuing criminal charges. This would indicate to me that the "victims" are far concerned with financial gain than justice. If a "victim" does not feel confident pursuing criminal charges, how outraged should we be? Rape is HORRIBLE, I want all criminals convicted and the victims should as well, a civil suit against a University does not do that.

the university has a process (that failed horribly) to address sexual assault. as early as orientation, you are told that there is a university employee whose major responsibility is to act as an advocate for you if you are the victim of sexual violence. if the article is true, all of these women went to that person and reported the assaults. they did exactly what they were told to do by a university that is legally mandated to have a process to act upon reports of sexual violence.

unless i'm crossing up stories, at least one of the perpetrators is being prosecuted too. https://www.fox2detroit.com/news/washten...u-student.

of course the perpetrator is the ultimate problem, but if the university worked to enable the perpetrators, that is a huge problem.

and i think a lot of Pono's points about the shittiness of reporting sexual assault is illustrated by your comments. you claimed they are more concerned with financial gain than justice. you made an assumption that they have a character flaw. this was based on very little information. why would anyone feel good about pursuing legal recourse when even fringe college sports message boards degrade the character of those who report sexual assault?
Ditto
