RE: Monday Musings
Dear Bob Wickersham,
First of all, I am not moving the goal posts. You said a season. That is what I was basing my decision on with a new coach. What you are forgetting, is that every year teams can change, because of graduations, coaches, new systems, etc. So, just because you were good in year X, doesn't mean you are going to be good in year Y.
My assertion of this year with the Big Ten, is based solely on what several media types said was the best conference in the nation. My entire opinion is not based on the tournament, that's your opinion of my thinking.

So the fact that only 1 team remains from the Big 10 DID NOT impact your opinion? With all due respect...that means you would have had the same opinion if all 9 teams remained. The real story: Every basketball expert in America had the Big 10 rated #1 in the country based on the regular season (rightfully so). Their poor performance in the tournament made you say, "hey, the experts are wrong! The Big 10 is not the best!" Many people are saying that because the Big 10 has played so poorly. It is an immediate reaction based on emotion but in reality, anything can happen in the NCAA tournament because matchups are important and there is little time to prepare for games. It is safe to assume that Oral Roberts knew more about Ohio State than vice versa.

Dear Bob Wickersham,
Please, stop trying to put your thinking into my thinking. You asked what conference Eastern should be in, i based that on what I originally said earlier in this thread. It had nothing to do with how poorly the Big Ten was doing in the tournament. I was trying to make fun of the Big Ten because I think they are over-rated compared to other conferences in the country, and the fact that the two newspapers in Detroit cover Michigan and Michigan State and no other college in the State of Michigan.
As you said in your last entry on this thread, I would have had the same opinion if all nine teams remained.
