LA Tech has won 34 national championships in Powerlifting, including 19 men's titles and 15 by the women. No, it's not an NCAA sport, but we still compete against a lot of big schools. Probably has as many schools competing for a championshp as the sport of "Field Hockey".

MAC was a better conference. Doesn't matter, we dropped the sport despite being very successful.

We also used to win the tennis-facility title every year until the NCAA stopped sponsoring it because it got too lopsided.

Ok. I'm gonna be honest, i would not use a title in field hockey to compare to soccer, or bring it up at all, in truth.

Don't want to get overly optimistic. But, in reading the Tennessean this morning both La Tech and ODU are being given a real solid shot to reach the Super Regional. Southern Miss could overtake Ole Miss in the Oxford Regional. Did not notice our fourth CUSA team (Charlotte?) getting any love. Could one or two of these squads make it to the CWS? Good Luck to all four.

Really? And why is that? They are both international sports and while i agree Soccer has become recently more popular in the states they're both sports no one cared about outside of the minority that followed them.

Ok. I'm gonna be honest too. I would not inject a soccer accomplishment my school had into another school's congratulatory topic for winning the CUSA Baseball title, or bring it up at all, in truth.

Also, field hockey wasn't the only national title, and nobody made any sports comparisons - but you knew that.
