I've been out of the loop here this summer. Haven't checked on anything since sometime in June, I suppose.

I'll see if I can dig anything up, but probably won't be any more successful than what you all found.

I'm thinking about re-booting this thread for the next season's recruiting pretty soon. With Monty, you could wait until like March to do it but Burno is MUCH more active so, I figure I will be too.

Plus, makes it way easier to keep up to date.

Hope all have had a great summer. Mine was way too short.

Yup. Just looked it up. Mark Gottfried and his entire staff have been put on paid administrative leave. The school has named Trent Johnson as interim HC.

I'm not sure if Anthony, Sr. was on the staff. He's not listed on the staff with Johnson, per their website.

They also only have 9 players listed on their roster (per the website) and Beane isn't one of them.

Others:

Keenan Cole is going to Polk State College (isn't that where Al Bundy once scored 4 touchdowns in a game?)

Surprisingly, Daniel Filippone has not landed anywhere.

Tavon Jones is going to Merrimack (I think I posted this one when it happened).

But I’m sad to see you leave. I was really looking forward to seeing how he’d develop under Coach Burno. Anyway...Cochran played 2 seasons at NIU and as a sophomore, Cochran had a breakout season playing in 12 games (11 starts) averaging 32.3 minutes and 15.5 ppg/7.3 rpg/2 apg/1.7 apg shooting 45.3% from the field (22.2% 3PT - 4 of 18) and 62.2% FT (28 of 45). Coming out of HS, Cochran received additional offers from UIC, Tennessee State, Western Michigan and Toledo. Honestly, this is probably going to be one of those “the grass is always greener/grab the opportunity when you get it/never criticize a guy for making a decision that he feels is best for him” type of situation. I hope he doesn’t regret this because he could have been a big part of the turnaround at NIU and still had 2 years of eligibility left. Oh well...c'est la vie Tyler.

Sting! No, this one is going to burn. Our hands down best player leaving for another team stings. Going to another MAC team will burn NIU for the next 2 years every time we play Ball State. Not a step up, just a move laterally. I don't fault Tyler - clearly he wasn't happy with the NIU organization.
