Not much for moral victories ETSU @ UT 3-16-21
This is definitely not a complete scouting report as I wasn't able to start watching until the 6th inning.
As the subject says, I'm not much for moral victories, but the team carried itself well. Let's be honest, UT is higher up the college baseball food chain, so to take a ranked team to an extra inning at their house is somewhat of an accomplishment. I know that winning is the name of the game, but still there are positives.
It was nice to see Jackson play. Looks like he's getting some PT at UT.
Offensively, they did enough to win. They had the lead and took the lead throughout the game.
Pitching-wise, they just gave up too many bases - I think six walks, five HBP, and a couple wild pitches. I don't know statistically how many "too many" is, but certainly double-digit bases puts pressure on your offense and makes you dip awful far into the bullpen.
