Well we can’t play that game unless you want to throw out our Michigan win and three nattys in football.

He can obviously coach, but can he and his mostly inexperience staff convince good players to come to App. Jim Fox couldn't coach a lick, esp the last 5 minutes, but his top assistant Jason Allison can recruit with the best of them. Mystified why Kerns didn't keep him on staff. Jason was responsible for 4 of the 5 starters on the floor. Fingers crossed.

Because he's now the interim Golf coach for us.

Don't exactly know how you exactly meant this. Is it a dig or positive towards Jason?
He took the golf gig after after spending some time in Athletic Development in a position Gillin mostly created for him. Jason is a pretty fair golfer and it was a natural move for him. He has the App golf team playing well in addition to creating one of the hottest pieces of App merchandise in recent years. He also signed a top-10 North Carolina Youth Golf Association player. Quite a feat considering how handicapped we are in golf.

You could make that comparison if App followed that win and Natty's with limited or no success in football, but that's not the case. But some of the programs the CUSA people like to tout as having basketball history (think Charlotte, UTEP, and probably a few others) are pretty far removed from anything resembling sustained basketball success.

Hope so. We shall see.

I’ve already seen enough to firmly state Kerns is the best coach App has had since Buzz the first time.

Well then it's settled! 03-wink

I've not seen enough to firmly state one way or the other.

For what it's worth, I think App is a team on the rise.

And that’s totally valid criticism to levy. I just eyeroll (not at you) about another team deserving to be there in our stead because we lost the play in game.

The team that wins the conference tournament deserves to go. As a fan of a team that loses it nearly every year, that’s the way it goes! Win and you’re in!

With all due respect I could care less what anyone on a fan board thinks. I'd wager there isn't a coach out there that puts stock in fan board opinions either.

Surely you can appreciate the irony of your post then

I wouldn't expect fans from other boards to give a rip what I think about their programs either.

My point is, you can’t have 5000+ posts on a message board, then tell me you could care less about what people on a fan board thinks.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. My response was in context to the comment: "Fair or not, you want respect across the multiple fan boards." I come here to discuss and offer insights others may not have, not cheerlead.

Conference RPIs for the SBC and CUSA for each season in the current iteration of the conference. Wasn't really a down year for the conference going by this.

By playing a division only schedule, its hard for either league to claim down year or good year. As a league we never got a full read on how good Texas State was for example, because we saw them play one game against an East team.

The fact Georgia State was able to beat South 3 times this year doesn't mean they were the class of the league, especially with limited OOC games for everyone.

I think it was an average year that happened to end with a lower seeded team winning the conference tournament.
