AAC Basketball Tourney Discussion Thread
Figured I'd start one up...looks like both Wichita and SMU have announced that multiple players have been ruled out of the tournament due to Covid...

Games today:

Temple-USF starts at Noon Today
Tulane-Tulsa after that
ECU-UCF to finish the day

No statistical science here, but I feel as if UC will advance. I suspect the Bearcats will be underdogs each time they hit the court.

Do we know if sufficient numbers of players have been ruled out that either SMU or WSU might forfeit--or that the entire AAC Tourney may not be completed?

I'm at the point where I believe UH, WSU and Memphis all deserve bids and if the games are played that may be the end result.

You’d have to strap me in a chair with my eyelids forced open ala Clockwork Orange to watch that slate of games. Lol

Why would you bring up this painful memory. For me the 2017/18 post season was nearly as painful as the 99/00 (Kenyon foot) post season. That 22 point debacle against Nevada, after the 1 seed in our quadrant had already lost, permanently soured me on college basketball. My interest level has dropped dramatically since then. I consider that game to be the worst loss in UC history in the last 50 years.

Apparently David DeJulius put on his Instagram that he is back playing this weekend.

The plot thickens...

Fuggin' Tulsa loses to Tulane LOL. Frank Haith is a pile of cow dung. He has to be on his tippy toes with the rising fire water right under his snoze. Dude took them to an 11 seed play-in-game [lost] during his second season and hasn't sniffed the NCAA since [7 seasons total].

Interesting how they have put 3 hours between games. Allows them to have a more assured start time.

Are you talking in the NCAA tournament or overall? If you are talking overall, the Presbyterian Blue Hose loss in 2011 is one that has to be up there.

That Canisius game sucked because they blew such a huge lead, but that was a good team coached by John Beilein that made the NIT final 4.

The Presbyterian loss was way worse as an individual regular season game.

Context matters though... I'd say Nevada was easily the worst loss for me as a fan. UC had a real contender with a wide open bracket. And the way we lost was excruciating.

Crap, I just now realized this is a home game for SMU. That sucks. Line is 5.5...was trying to understand why so high.

Yep...I actually think that Nevada game really helped me lose some irrationality about basketball here. After that, I just started watching the games because it was an enjoying thing to do and not care about the result, because I was in a dark ******* rage after that one in a way I never want to be again as a result of a game.

The Canisius Golden Griffins, along with every other soul in the Shoe, knew after the timeout our last play design would be Damon Flint going one on 5 to clank one. Infuriating.

I drank several gallons of Warsteiner at Christie’s to try to improve my mood after we left the arena.

The Wofford loss in Cronin's first year ended up looking pretty bad as they finished #249 in KenPom at 10-20.
