We call him Buddy Buckets! Congrats on the win. SU is playing its best basketball of the season. They found a real center from the bench after losing the starting center 4 minutes into the first game of the season. If they get in the tourney, they can sneak up on a few teams.

They may have gotten a double bye. They may be bound for the NCAAT. But if you watch the final 3 minutes of GT playing Miami in the ACCT and Duke in regulation/OT in Atlanta ... you can age a year per minute of gameplay. Aside from Jose Alvarado it's "an adventure" against a competent press.

Tar Heels looking great. UNC-FSU should be a good game tomorrow.

Miami should have stuck with those orange throwbacks. In fact, they should just wear those all the time.

GT crapped its pants royally at the end of regulation and in OT against press and trap defense from Duke and Miami.

Leonard Hamilton has about the deepest bench in the entire country. They're built on their defense.

No press and trap. .... Wuuuuhhhh? Leonard gets a F on coaching that first half. If you wanted to win Leonard you'd drive the ball at Moses until he fouls out and run a full court press and trap with line change subs to keep it fresh. Then the entire game for GT looks like that comedy of errors at the end against Miami/Duke.

The only thing bad about GT right now are those practice jerseys Adidas decided to roll out for them.

The first Southern Conference Tournament was in 1921. From 1921 until 1990 Carolina had won 19 times out of 70. NC State had won 17 titles, Duke had won 13 titles. Wake Forest has won 3. Maryland has won 3. UVa, SC, Clemson, GT, and Washington and Lee had won a smattering.

30 years after gutting our athletic program Carolina has 26 titles over a century. Duke has 24, Wake Forest has 5, GT has 4, UVa has 3, and NC State still has 17.

Real perspective requires us to go back to 1921.
