Wichita's Likely Starting Lineup to start the season
PG: Porter
SG: Etienne
SF: Dexter
PF: Pleasant
C: Udeze

The biggest threats to break that up are Ricky Council (we will HAVE to find him minutes), Clarence Jackson and Qua Grant. Though I wouldn't be suprised to see Jackson and Pleasant split minutes. Udeze will have McFarlane and Pohto behind him to hopefully take some load off him where Poor Bear and Bilau failed this year.

I'm shocked. All indications from the program were he was done with college ball. Obviously a case of pro prospects not being what he wants at this juncture.

He could technically come back to UC but I'd be a little surprised if that happens. It would be great for us and would be a better ending for him here, but my gut tells me he's looking to improve his pro prospects and that might be tough for him in UC's spot trying to rebuild a bit.

Also, I'm hearing rumblings that Moussa could return. Hasn't transferred yet. Either way, we're going to have a deep bench. Perfect for the way Penny wants to play.

minott is probably the 1 freshman that should be starting but memphis is so deep..

Got to believe A. Lomax will start for Memphis at PG. Don't think he should given who we have coming back & Minott coming in but it's likely. Penny pursued but has stuck out on 3 guards he wanted in the portal so it's obvious he's not satisfied with the PG position. Don't see Lomax & Harris coming off the bench or playing at the same time - or Harris will get very few minutes.

It is a tough decision.

You either have no true PG or no True post presence.

I think Q, Deandre and Nolley are locks...

Then you have Earl and Minott...For the 4th spot.

That leaves 1 spot for a center\PF or a PG...Team full of wings.

imo Removing ties and connections to players

the best memphis lineup to me is:

earl, lester, nolley, williams and dandridge... lacks a point but emphasis your defense
with lawson and minnott the 1st 2 off the bench.. then lomax..and very limited minutes for harris.. if cisse come back put him in the starting spot in place of dandridge

lomax isnt drastically improving the offense nor is he a very good point... id reinform your strength ...

Tyrie Jackson hit the portal today. I expect ECU to sign one more, right now we're in the top 5 for Alanzo Frank from SC, big dude good FG %, didn't play much this year due to covid. Add him though I see no reason why we won't be improved next year.

Roster so far.

JJ Miles
Wynston Tabbs
Tristen Newton
Brandon Suggs
Tay Mosher
Marlon Lestin
Jaquan Scott
Javon Small
RJ Felton
Tremont Robinson-White
Alexis Reyes
Ludgy Debaut
Vance Jackson

Kevin Obanor hits the portal. Someone is about to get a really good player. Only posting this due to him being from Houston. Let’s hope we get involved.

A total score for whoever gets him. Who still has room? Clark’s knees make hm no guarantee. We could use a guy like Obanor.

Weathers 2
Todorovic
MacBride
Tristan clark
Franklin Agunanne

WSU has an open scholly. Plus, he and Morris Udeze are workout partners and good friends.

- houston - but doesnt seem to want ot use it
- Tulsa but self imposing a 13 limit
- ecu
- smu (unclear j. young situation- could be zero)
- memphis -- but targeting some major 2022 to 2021 reclass - and cisse potentially returning
- usf
- ucf- but extremely unlikely to use it- multiple returning super seniors
- wichita

(cincy, tulane and temple are the 3 confirmed 100% capacity)

Obanor would be game changing for smu and wichita..as it would solidify the one position group that has the most question marks...would automatically be seen as the best player on usf and ecu

random sidenote tulane landed a transfer 2 days ago, only noticed when searching limits right now--

Across town and we could use him, but my understanding is the limit on scholarships remains in place. We do have a new President officially on the job. He is local and the kid is popular, but I just don't see it. We have other things that require some immediate attention for the Pres to even notice in my opinion.

It's a shame he is a shooter and solid rebounder, of course Haith would likely just misuse him anyway while working a terrible sub pattern.

SMU has at least one if not two or even three scholarships available.

Davis (no guarantee he comes back)
Phelps
Smith
Nutall
Weathers
Bandoumel
McBride
Weathers
Todorovic
Lundblade (walk-on)
Clark
Young (scholarship or walk-on)
Agunane
Jasey (super senior so he doesn't count against the limit)

Don’t worry. I don’t think Tulsa will be on his short list.

Is anyone still in the transfer portal that could come close to replacing Yor Anei? I have to think SMU just became that much more attractive to a big man transfer with news of KD's return.

offseason has gone dead, so for fun ill project everyone's starting lineup...

- lock to start
* likely to start but not a lock
= shot in the dark

Cincy
* Davis Dejulius
= Mika Adams Woods
- Jeremiah Davenport
* Ody Oguama (tr)
* Abdul Ado (tr)

You could be right on this, but I don't think UC is going to start Ody and Ado together. I could be wrong, but I see Ody and Koval sharing the floor together a good amount and UC going small with Ado more often that not. However, really that's just a shot in the dark from me. UC is a really hard team to predict. I feel good about Davenport being a starter. Other than that, things are wide wide open.

My predictions:

Starters:

PG Saunders
SG MAW
F Newman
F Davenport
C Ado

Bench players getting 10-20 minutes per game:
PG / SG DDJ
SG Madsen
PF Ody Oguama (Honestly he could play 20-25 minutes whether he starts or comes off the bench)
C Koval (assuming he gets a waiver)

Unknowns
Hensley
Lakhin
McGinnis

There are so many directions UC could go with this roster. I'm really intrigued to see what happens.

Maybe should start a new thread for this but wanted to bump based on some of the reports coming out of practice. Starters as of today sound like.

Pg Saunders
Sg DDJ
F Newman
F Davenport
C. Ado

There are also some rumblings from Chad Brendel that Lahkin could be a dude
