RE: POY
They gave it to the senior on a first place team who averaged 1 point more than Tyson.
I saw it coming and it’s how this league gives awards. Based purely on the most points scored.
I think Shaq being left off the all-defensive team is the biggest joke of them all.
I mean Walters held the POTY to 6-15 and 3-12 shooting in 2 games.
That tells me he’s a good defender, no?

But why did he lead the league in scoring? Because of their out of conference schedule. He came out or pre conference games with a scoring average of 21.7 and by the time his season was over his average was down to 19.7.
So while Lewis was playing against Limestone, Norfolk State, Radford, E Carolina, Alice Lloyd, VCU, Morgan State, FAU, and Chowan Tyson was playing at UMASS (twice), Syracuse, ODU, Georgia, W Virginia and North Carolina. Which slate is easier to fatten up your stats with? Looking just at stats seems pretty superficial to me.

I agree. But this is the CAA we’re talking about...

Taking a team from worst to first will give you bonus points too. I thought it was a coin flip between Lewis and Walker. Not a huge surprise to me. I think most would agree that Walker is the best player in the conference, regardless

Going from worst to first was an amazing feat but the "bonus points" for that doesn't go to any one individual player....they go to the coach. He had them playing like a completely different team this year and he brought in some good players...which is why he got Coach of the Year.
