From first glance, I'm going to ask the question and maybe it's been cleared but it looks like he left Memphis abruptly amidst rumors of inappropriate flirting with colleagues. What's the deal there? Was he cleared?

Dig deeper in those allegations. They are about as soft as you can get.

I looked at institutional growth when I looked him up, I didn't even look into the scandal side which definitely could change my opinion (Les Miles, Freeze, etc.) but he has grown school athletic departments in positive ways multiple times.

I personally don’t think much of the allegations, but it gave Admin an excuse to finally sever the relationship. It was no secret there was a rift between Bowen and school admin. When his six month extension was up, Tom was allowed to go month to month until he would have presumably been hired away. I may be off on the timeframe and he may have been fired/allowed to resign before the month to month kicked in. I just know it was after it was made public that Tom’s contract wasn’t gonna be for the long term. I know he interviewed for multiple P5 jobs plus SBC and Southern commissioner positions, but have no idea as to why he didn’t land one of them.

IMO, Bowen was a good AD and did what he was hired to do, fix football and finances. Good Luck to Tom and Ark. St.

I'm pretty meh at this point but I am open minded. Our crying need RIGHT NOW is someone who will fire our basketball coaches, men's and women's, and fix that mess. Baseball needs to be right behind it. This guy's history is football. So I hope that's not all he can do.

Its one of those hires that will play off well in Jonesboro where we're far more likely to forgive and forget past transgressions in favor of winning now across all sports, but I'm not sure how this will go nationally.

I’ve seen nothing but positivity nationally. Apparently he’s very well respected.

Sounds like a good hire to me. ULM needs an experienced AD. I like Scott McDonald personally and want him to be involved with the university, but am afraid he is in over his head. I fully expect Bowden to become AD after he retires and if we don’t reassign Scott and get an AD soon, I at least hope he will listen to Bowden and use his and RR’s contacts. That is the main thing Scott is missing he is a smart business man, just doesn’t have the contacts or experience. I do appreciate him stepping into the job though when no one else wanted it because of the nightmare that was Bruno.
