7 teams get in. Both FSU and UVA have the pieces to make long runs. UVA goes furthest.

6. FSU goes furthest. Nobody makes it past the Elite Eight.

RE: ACC Schools
7, with Duke or Georgia Tech being the 7th.

FSU has the highest ceiling when they're at their best, but they have some odd flop games that make me dubious that they can win more than 3 straight in the tournament. I wouldn't be shocked to have only 1 team in the Sweet 16, but also won't be shocked if we had a few surprises in the Sweet 16. Outside of the top 3 in the nation, anyone is beatable on a given night this year by anyone else good enough to make the tournament.

RE: ACC Schools
Hard to say who will go the farthest without seeing the potential match-ups along the way.

Florida State, when they are on, look unbeatable, and like they could play with Gonzaga, Baylor and Michigan. But they've had some lapses too, so .... who knows. Virginia was looking that way too, until this late little skid. In this year of complete weirdness, I wanna reserve the right to take a stab at this question when the brackets are released.

I think 6 teams getting in is the floor.

I think 8 is the max. Which will depend on other conferences to a large degree, in addition to what those ACC schools on the bubble do in the last couple games.

It should be a helluva an interesting tourney, for sure.

Nice writeup Schmolick. Although I have to point out that the ACC does have a blog, ACC-RX

I was referring to one at SB Nation.

RE: ACC Schools
Tonight's the big bubble game in Atlanta between Duke and Georgia Tech. I'd probably feel better about the winner's chances than I would about the loser's chances, especially if Georgia Tech wins. GaT has home court advantage but on the other hand as the Tech fans would love to point out it's Mike Krzyzewski vs. Josh Pastner.

Cuse will rue the day they blew that early season home game to Pitt. They need to beat Clemson and probably win 2 games in the ACCT to get a bid

RE: ACC Schools
As of 12:10 am this morning:
Seed
--
4 FSU
5 UVA
7 VT
7 Clemson
10 UNC
10 Louisville
11 GT

GT and Louisville are in the last 4 byes
Duke is #4 in the 1st 4 out
Cuse is #8 out in the next 4 out

In a normal season where ticket sales matter, I think UNC, Duke, Cuse, and possibly Louisville all get in if they're projected within 8 of the tourney. This year with only ratings considerations, I'm not so sure.

Duke and North Carolina don't drive TV audiences?

I don't know if ticket sales or TV audiences affect the NCAA Selection Committee, with Duke and Michigan State on the bubble I think we will find out. I've seen Syracuse get in in 2016 but were left out in 2017 so I can't form any conclusion one way or another. Kentucky also was left out in 2013.
