Who is Tusane? Is this implying they have too much sanity? Has football season been over for too long already?

Northwestern and ND are also against this, citing that the players are not getting compensation from EA.

It is wildly unpopular with fans thus far.

Yes. I fat fingered the title.

I'm sure a copy of the game, perhaps with a personalized cover art for every D1 player would be more than enough compensation for the players.

There are maybe a handful. and I mean on one hand, the players that could make a legit argument for not being compensated.

EA is not making money on the game from me because I want to be like Joe Burrough. Its because I love college football.

Yep. This is really not a big deal. Several large brands (Notre Dame being the first) have and will opt out until players are compensated, which EA will do as the legislation evolves. There is significant pressure from law makers who will pass laws and force the ncaa to finally act. This will occur before the game releases

I am really hoping that EA Sports eventually decides against producing NCAA Football video games... Sports need to be free of politics and such...

RE: Absolute New Low for Tusane!!!!
NFL players get something like $17,000 for being in Madden. Even if you are a 2nd string nobody player. With 32 53 man rosters, that is close to $30 million getting paid out to players just for the video game to exist. I'm sure the NCAA demand is slightly lower than madden, and the player count is way higher. But EA is probably still going to be ponying up $20-$30 million to college players if they want this game to come back.

That $30M is nothing compared to the revenue they get from selling the game. Money was never the issue for EA, it was legal reasons.

i have a feeling it may be less of what the players are getting compensated for than what it is the university will get compensated for...as in kickbacks.
