On ESPN+, is it ESPN announcers, always home team announcers, or varies?

Damn UTRGV is playing well against UVU. Those rebounds are insane.

ESPN just takes the feed from the team. If NMSU was the home team and ESPN carried it, Adam Young would be the announcer. I think...

Not well enough. Plus Levi got himself ejected, starting to be a pattern of behavior. And that's it for our unearned "#1" status.

I saw that but I missed why. Upset? Still for only playing 2 WAC games they still did damn well.

Seattle is keeping GCU at bay. Under 8_minutes to go, Seattle leading by 10. Had it to 16 at one point.

I wonder how many technicals he has had in his career.

Couldn't control his temper. And it looked like Rhea didn't even travel, don't know if was something personal or it had something to do temper issues too.

A UVU player, Cole I believe, patted him on the back as he walked by, and Levi threw a tantrum.

RE: 2-26 and 2-27 games
With Seattle knocking off GCU tonight, there is a possibility Utah Valley could be sitting alone at the top of the WAC standings by tomorrow night. It would take GCU losing again tomorrow and UVU beating RGV again, but its still a scenario few could have predicted.

If UVU can win tomorrow, they have a chance to play for the conference championship next weekend.

Rhea entered the transfer portal. He’s gone.

Tarleton hires announcers for the ESPN+ broadcasts. Tonight it was John Liddle and Scott Garner. They’ll do the Football broadcast on ESPN+ tomorrow too. Casey Hogan is the radio play-by-play voice and for the online stream for non-ESPN games. All three do a great job.

He's transferring, but has he quit the team as well? If so, that's not good optics for a recruit.

I thought they were good announcers for the game. Pretty well balanced, and pretty well educated on the opponent.

They do a nice job, for sure.

GO AGGIES!!!

Have to say he usually looked like he was about to blow up, on and off the court, and that's ever since he got here, not just since Lew Hill passed away. Like WacFan86 said in the other thread, it's not a surprise.

Levi's issue is more recent, I hope he can get past it . If not it would be better to not play him, rather than wait for him to do something that'll bump the UVU-NMSU fight off its YouTube ranking.

RE: 2-26 and 2-27 games
I’ve been lurking for awhile and figured it’s about time to officially jump into the fray. Regarding the “bad announcers”, we probably should specify whether we’re talking about the tv or radio announcers. Every team has their “Voice of the ________” who does ALL games, home and road, only on radio for their team. Usually, these guys are highly experienced and very good. Most schools also have TV announcers who only handle televised home games. When the WAC Digital Network sprang into existence a couple years ago, they provided broadcast equipment to schools who didn’t already have the resources. When that happened, many schools hired announcers, sometimes students or other non-experienced guys, to handle the play by play and analyst duties. TV and radio play by play are two different animals and unless a team elects to simulcast their announcing (meaning the tv audience also hears the radio call) it’s the tv guys we’re usually complaining about. From my listening to the conference radio guys I can say they all do a very nice job.

I'm not exactly sure a "Welcome" is in order if you've been around a while, but thanks for jumping in and adding to the conversation. Some solid considerations here. I have a hard time getting too worked up about the quality announcers on what are essentially free broadcasts. We all have our own preferences and peeves, but I guess we get what we pay for, whether it's students, homers, or otherwise.

New Mexico State has the best TV (Adam Young) and Radio (Jack Nixon) announcers. Everyone else are homer amateurs compared to them. I was also not impressed with the Tarleton announcers. The sure were pretty clueless about the NMSU basketball team.

Adam and Jack, yes. Rus Bradburd, not so much.
