Gee...I seem to recall someone saying that on this board a while back....

RE: Interesting twitter thread on Fauci
In a MINOR defense of him (minor because he should know this and adapt to it... as opposed to feeding it)...

People often ask him leading questions... and things in his world are subject to tons of caveats.... Is he speaking to a PHD or to Bubba?

i.e. (and not necessarily something mentioned here)... the subject of masks depends on the purpose, application and circumstances. A cloth mask will not block the virus... it only 'holds down' the water vapor that it travels on... which means it PHYSICALLY spreads in less volume and to a smaller area.... so cloth masks DO reduce transmission, but they do not 'filter out' the disease. If you're Joe average in a store, you don't need to 'filter it out'. If you're Jane Healthcare worker or Sam taking care of an 'at risk person', you do.

So these are 'detailed' questions, and people are demanding 'simple' answers... and 'simple' answers are at conflict with 'detailed' science. The head of the CDC, or at least the 'voice' of the CDC needs to understand this and be clear about whether this is a scientifically accurate answer or if it is just one that most people can understand.

RE: Interesting twitter thread on Fauci

He then wrote this in the NEJofM about 2 MONTHS LATER. But by all means let's blame everything on Trump and call this clown a genius and savior.
Fauci paper on Covid from late March
Quote:Of note, there were no cases in children younger than 15 years of age. Either children are less likely to become infected, which would have important epidemiologic implications, or their symptoms were so mild that their infection escaped detection, which has implications for the size of the denominator of total community infections.
But by all means let's keep the schools closed.
From the paper, this is what Fauci was saying in March.
Quote:This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively.2

Most of us here are well aware of what he is, save for the few that worship at his every word. *cough*CommieTom*cough*

I wouldnt defend a word out of his mouth, knew he was dope the first time I heard him speak.

He is a major prick who think he knows more than anyone and has always had an agenda...like all politicians, and yes this little prick is a politician.

I'd say he's political... has an obvious political bent (left) and lets it get in the way... I wouldn't say he's a politician. A politician (at least a decent one) wouldn't allow himself to be so easily found to be contradicting himself. Doing so insults the science and scientists addressing these issues and those like me who respect the work they do.

He's a bureaucrat, not a politician. If anything might be worse than a politician, it is a bureaucrat.

RE: Interesting twitter thread on Fauci
The bastard was backing studies into the viability of infecting humans with ferret viruses in the Netherlands in 2014. When Obama cracked down on such research he set up a dummy corporation in New York that moved the research to Wuhan where it expanded from just ferrets to bat species and other mammals.

Look the Dr. Mengele of viral warfare has been put in charge of all of this because China, the WHO, and Big Pharma all stood to gain. Every time I see his Rat Face on TV I want to hurl. He's the last person who should have ever been put up as the leader in handling medical information on this outbreak. It's as if the Allies had appointed Mengele to investigate Nazi atrocities related to so called medical research at the death camps. He gets to receive all of the information on the virus, its dispersal patterns, its communicability, and its lethality and what for? To perfect a more lethal one? The guy should be thoroughly investigated going back to prior his involvement in 2014 and brought up on charges.

He's the one who's been running our country the past year

I'm still wondering where the models predicting 100% return to normal (as close as we can get it, at least) at best case, worst case, & most likely case are.

If he can't do that, he's not fit for the job.
