We here at Ga Southern are selling season tickets for this Fall with no limits. I sure hope that is how it stays

I asked our ticket office and was told that they were informed not to expect any capacity restrictions this season.

This may differ by state though honestly.

Ill be very curious to see how this affects attendance overall. Like even if there are not limits will people show up again?

Depends relatively on how your area was hit by Covid and how the population reacted to it. Residents living in a city where people didn't take Covid precautions as seriously to begin with will probably see a faster return to normal economic and social activity. Residents in cities where there were more people taking precautions may take much longer.

I think it is good to be optimistic and assume the best case scenario 7 months in advance. Personally, these new "variants" are starting to worry me and I am concerned that we really will be "back to normal" in the Fall.

Israel's success with widespread vaccination and recent studies into effectiveness against the Variants worry me far less. But I know others who are petrified of those variants

Ultimately, I think tis going to be a state to state city to city thing. Arkansas may drop all restrictions in the Fall, and other states may keep many in place through next winter.

RE: Are other Belt schools selling football tickets with no capacity limits?
COVID Numbers are already naturally declining. We will likely see a Fall bump up in cases, as with the flu, but our largest case load would have been in the Fall/Winter of 2020/2021. This is in line with how the H1N1 began in 1917, peaked in 1918/1919, and then dwindled for another 3 or 4 years.

It's been highly politicized but as a matter of biology, this progression was predictable as a matter of historical record.

After this year of mostly empty stadiums, it's still hard for me to imagine over 100K in Ann Arbor and/or Baton Rouge. Maybe it will happen.

It won't happen in Ann Arbor. No way on earth. But what about Tuscaloosa?

By fall the vaccines should be available to anyone who wants it. At that point the risk is on those who choose not to take it.

Well, yes and no. Vaccines don't prevent anything. They lessen the impact should you get it, but it doesn't eliminate it entirely. Of course, anyone willing to congregate with tens of thousands of others, use the same restroom facilities, eat food by vendors who rarely wash their hands, much less change their gloves are at risk of getting a cold, flu, diarrhea, something. I mean, just because a frat guy wears a condom gets it on with a sorority chick during rush week with 8 different variations of the clap doesn't mean it's a good idea.

According to NC governor, outside stadium capacity has been raised to 30% threshold as of now.

If there are no restrictions in Georgia then UGA will have 93k maskless fans in attendance come September. Count on it.

The vaccine roll-out time table is looking much more positive right now. This will certainly increase the likelihood of 93K showing up in Athens. Still, there is a percentage of the population that will not feel comfortable in that type of setting by this September. Not sure how many of those are Georgia fans.

Most Southern schools will end up at 100 percent. I am not sure what the Northern schools will do.

The alumni pressure of the Big Ten after there mishandling last season will be enough to get their stadiums open without limits.
