Game 1 against Elon tips off today at 2 at the Kap

With 4 games potentially left split between Elon and NE, these next two games against Elon will have a huge impact on our seeding for the Tournament!

Elon is 1-7 with the lone win being last weekend at CoC in their last game. Since Elon has two games to get the rust off last weekend the line makes us only a 2.5 point favorite at home.

We are currently 6th in CAA standings at 4-4 with Drexel 7th at 3-5 and Delaware 5th at 5-4. With us facing NE at home next weekend for two games, this is probably the only remaining regular season game we will be favored.

Scouting report states to focus on Elon #0 McIntosh who is leading scorer at 16.8 per game and limit his 3 point shooting while we drive to the basket and kick it out for shots.

Elon is deep with 8 players averaging over 10 minutes per game primarily due to no dominant front court players and young like us.

Kochera leads all CAA freshmen in scoring and ranks 14th overall in the league at 13.6. That number ranks 17th nationally among freshmen.

Tribe ranks among the national top 50 in free throw shooting.

This will be game of momentum.

The start shows 2 weeks off. I'm proud that we are playing the game even though not all the players are available. It's good not to be chicken.

Are we 20 points better than Elon? Lots of rust so far. Not sure they can come back, but i expect things to get better. Connor and Luke are going to have to score a lot.

So typical of teams that have paused for two weeks, early turnovers (getting used to game speed again), poor accuracy and the third thing shows up in the final four minutes of the game, tired legs, leading to accuracy problems and missed foul shots.

plus, not allowing your opponent to shoot 80% from 3 is a big thing...

Two Elon scrubs go off for thirty in just one half. 80% from three. We look like we haven’t shot a basketball in a month. Yikes!

Expect much high D intensity next half

Will need to exploit the inside better with drives and our big men which will open up the outside

Seeing the transition of our clutch player sifting from Lowe to Kochera

Elon s playing harder than we are.

It usually takes a full game to get back even close to game speed. I hope they prove me wrong in the second half, but they are a step slow everywhere today.

Very telling 3 possessions in a row. Stone air balls wide open 3 point attempt. McIntosh hits 3 pointer. Wight misses both FTs.

We can’t win if we can’t hit shots and they hit every 3 they attempt.

You think this is bad, Charleston just went to OT with some D2 squad from Georgia. Gotta be the worst CAA ever from top to bottom. 16 seed as a play in guaranteed.
