According to the owner of UC’s 247 site, Roy Williams just joined UCATS and bought season tickets to UC basketball to watch Miller coach.

What? Roy doesn't want to watch Hubert?!?! It's his fault he's the coach!!!

I kid, but Wes is his boy so it wouldn't surprise me. He's always spoken so highly of him.

I'm thinking Roy will watch both Miller and Davis in person. He has shown in the past that he likes to attend games and he can chum it up with the fans at both UNC and UC games. Roy should be very happy in retirement. He has a positive karma.

I agree. I'm just poking fun at the portion of the fanbase that didn't want Davis to get a shot.

Idk if this person is still alive, but I remember Roy Williams telling a story about 12 years ago of a former coach of his who drives 5 hours there, 5 hours back to every UNC home game to support him.

I'm pleased with the Davis hire. But I can see how others are disappointed.

Wow!

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/celti...er-report/

I assume Brad Stevens is secure (or must feel secure) in Boston to turn this down. I'm not saying Brad's in danger now but I'd be shocked if Stevens is coaching the Celtics seven years from now. If that offer was real, I would've taken it.

I would have been thrilled had IU landed Stevens. But it seems he and his family are extremely happy living/working in Boston. Sometimes, salary is not the main consideration.

Well you know what they say about once you make over 70k and happiness?

Boston College should have unloaded the treasure because it seems they had a better shot than Indiana!

I don't think you could pay Stevens enough to coach at BC.

I think Boston would give Ainge and Stevens one more year but things don't look good there and Masai Ujiri most likely leaving the Raptors after this season. I could see Boston clean house. Ainge had multiple times to get the roster better and he didn't do it. Stevens has the team regressing, but I'm sure any rebuilding team or playoff roster team would hire Stevens in an instance.

The news of Brad Stevens and the Celtics reminds me of the Indiana head coaching job.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/3155...ont-office

I wonder if Stevens ever was offered the job and maybe he should have taken it. Or this is better for Brad.

Stevens left Butler because it was rumored he really disliked recruiting and only wanted to focus on coaching basketball. He is now stepping down as head coach because he is worn down from coaching basketball.

I can definitely see him taking a hiatus from coaching for a year or two to recharge, network and perhaps surround Jaylen Brown with some other star players before taking another head coaching gig (NBA or otherwise).
