Very impressive wins by Georgia State.

That's quite the upset.

Western NC beer scene is poppin. I brought a beer guide back from a recent trip that shows all the breweries in Asheville and the surrounding area. We went to like 8 spots while we were there and after consulting the guide at the end of the trip, it turned out we barely scratched the surface. Portland is the only other place I’ve been to that was like that with just the huge number of breweries.

Asheville has taken over Portland on # of breweries /capita, although Portland still has more. The beer culture from Charlotte-West in NC is pretty good. Charlotte is missing what i'd call a flagship brewer, but it has a lot of very good options.

Burial is the best in Asheville.

Burial was probably the top place we went to in terms of the beer. Bhramari and Green Man were also very good. I enjoyed Green Man’s upper level bar with the outside area for the views and then the inside portion of the upper bar overlooked the actual brewery. I thought that was a neat feature. Of the places we went to Highland had the best overall setup and atmosphere. Beer was just OK. But like I said, we barely scratched the surface, so I’m excited to go back and do some more exploring. I have a buddy getting married in Wilmington in early Oct so I may make a trek out to Western NC and the Smokies again after the wedding.
I live in AVL and can give some recommendations for next time; The Wedge. They have two locations so which ever is less crowded works. Both near food and have outdoor space. Hiwire is also very high on my list too for out-of-owners to try. For more of the hidden gym breweries try Zilacoa, Hillman's, Sweeten Creek, and Cursus Keme once it reopens.

Thanks! Copying this to my notes. Hopefully I’m back in the area later this year.

You're all getting a taste of what our team deals with every year from January through March. For some reason we struggle to get home games during that time...

Coastal walks off Duke with a Grand Slam from Chavers, in game 2. Series at 1-1. Game 3 to start around 4pm.

Was interesting for sure, gave up 4 to start the ninth, after being tied 3-3 going in. Scored a single run, then the granny. Three more errors makes 7 thru 2 games. Wouldn’t wanna be at practice this week.

I hearing and seeing a lot of mistakes being made by players. seems the extremely long break from playing real competition is making a difference. Its was close to a full year between games. Thats just not normal for these players.

Cajuns take the rubber game 9-7 in the twelfth against Tulane on the road. All three games went extra innings.

Going to be a very interesting year for SBC Baseball. The year between games is going to make players rusty, but the lack of players getting drafted and seniors getting their year back is going to leave a lot of players in place this season who everyone assumed would have graduated. The Talent is probably better than its ever been.

Problem is, every league has the same thing going for it.

RE: Baseball Opening Weekend
It’s early but this Louisiana team is showing some grind. That series with Tulane was drama filled all 32 innings.

We face Tech and LSU this week if I’m not mistaken...should be fun.
