NIT in NYC is a non starter, our Politian's are complete IDIOTS, there will not be an NIT tournament played there this year

The Knicks/Rangers just annouced that they're gonna start allowing 2000 fans per game beginning next week, and the Big East just confirmed our conference tourney at MSG was a go.

If NYC/MSG still wants the NIT, the NIT will happen there.

I take it no fans allowed? My mom and I were just talking about this a few days ago. Last game we went to was Houston @ UConn just before the shut down, and we had a blast. Would be nice to go see as game again

Definitely. It would reduce the risk of Covid for his team, and would be the only way to guarantee two NCAA bids for the AAC.

Correct, no fans (as of now).

There were a lot of losses, some really bad, by teams on the bubble today. The door is opening for WSU, SMU and Memphis

Wichita State has moved up to #64 in the Massey Composite rankings and to #69 in the NET rankings, after beating Houston. However, their RPI has moved all the way up to #23.

Houston has dropped down a couple of notches, but they're still in the top 8-10.

.

Oddly, Maryland's NET is #35, despite a mediocre 12-10 record (5-10 Q1/Q2), and Penn State's NET is #40 despite a 7-11 record (5-10 Q1/Q2).

Wichita St. (12-4) (4-4 Q1/Q2) has a much better record and yet has a NET of #69. The same applies to SMU (11-4) (4-3 Q1/Q2) (NET #59), although their Q1 record is 0-3.

.

The best news for Wichita State may be that they have moved all the way up to #3 (projected seed: 11.78; 32 votes (up from only 4 votes last week)) on the list of "Other At-Larges" at bracketmatrix.com, which is roughly equivalent to being projected as one of the "first four (or eight) out" at this point. WSU had already been listed as one of the first four or eight out in Jerry Palm's bracketology, even before their win over Houston.

We needed to beat Nova yesterday. I think going 4-0 and picking up a win against Seton Hall to end the season would still put us safely in, but I'm not as comfortable as I would have been if we picked up the W.

Door is definitely opening up for a 2nd AAC bid. The Indiana loss to MSU was brutal. Funny how teams like MSU and Kentucky are terrible losses this year lol

"safely in" is strong wording when you were outside the bubble before you lost to vill

3 of the 4 teams left on your schedule arent even NIT teams...and seton hall isnt
a world beater..

4-0 and a 1st round conference loss... you are sweating on selection sunday

A lot of brackets had us as one of the last 4 in. Lunardi had us as the first team out. We still have wins over USC and Xavier. Adding a road win @ Seton Hall gives us 3 Q1 wins, with (if I'm not mistaken) no losses outside of Q2. In a normal season I would agree with you, but a lot of teams don't have more than 3 signature wins. Depends on who we lose to round 1 in that hypothetical, but I think we have different definitions of what "sweating" would be. We'll see, that's what makes this time of year so fun

Edit: Just saw St John's dropped out of the top 75 (barely at 76) giving us a Q3 loss

The governor has recently made it possible for about 2,000 fans to attend professional sporting events... We'll see if that applies to nature sports/NIT Tournament.

Thanks! I had seen a few teams were allowed in New Jersey (the Devils, Giants and Jets) but had no idea about NYC. Hopefully they do allow some fans, I will definitely look for tickets if so!

Since this is a thread about post season prospects...

Anyone else worried about what MSU is doing right now? I had counted them out a week or so ago but they're knocking off top 5 teams left and right. 75 in NET before beating OSU last night, and they were already 4-8 in Q1, 2-1 in Q2 with no losses in Q3 or 4. They have to be firmly on the bubble, if not in right now, no? I get 7-9 in Q1+2 combined isn't great, but again, they're picking up some huge wins.

The 'eye test' gets them in.

Apologies for the lurk, but it appears that the NIT is moving to Dallas for this season, with possible games being played in Ashville, NC.

Would be a great alternative to NYC
