I do think that establishment Republicans give nothing but lip service to conservatives. The GOP pushed John McCain and Mitt Romney as presidential candidates, neither of which appealed to conservatives at all.

Both of them were RINOs/DIABLos.

And that's what makes Trump so appealing. He's not perfect. There are a few issues where I completely disagree with him. But he made a point to bring Evangelicals into the inner circle as opposed to blatantly lying to us.

Establishment Republicans seem to work hard moving to the left while not expecting Democrats to move to the right. BTW, that's about the only thing I give Dems credit for -- not giving in.

I used to think compromise was a good thing until I realized that usually it means you're giving up on your values.


But yes, the Democrats are so far gone from anything that even remotely suggests they have any respect for American ideals, values and foundation.

What they miss is that time was marked by economic prosperity, low crime, a high level of national pride, and an exploding middle class. Those are the things people are nostalgic about. I want those things for all people and know we can’t get any of them when we are split down the middle with half the country being ashamed of the country they live in and worrying more about transgendered rights in Pakistan than they are about the murder rate in Chicago.
