Don't misunderstand — I’m not against the idea.

But if Manchin or any GOP Senator were in favor of it, it would’ve already happened.

Do you expect Mitch to just “go along with it”.........I don’t. Kings rarely, if ever give up the throne, and that’s how people like Nancy, Mitch, Harry Reid, etc. are.

There would have to be a coup among the other Republican Senators to oust Mitch, then who is to say that the next Republican in line would go for it??

I don't think Mitch would go along with being removed from the minority leader spot in any manner. But he needs to go. And a move that got rid of him and turned it into a majority leader rather than minority leader spot would be in the best interests of the Republican Party and the country.

I said before that my favorite outcome for the 2020 senate races would have been for Amy McGrath to beat Mitch while republicans held onto the senate. And if the first of those had happened, oddly enough, the second might have. Mitch totally screwed up the COVID relief bill. First he let the democrats push through a pork-laden bill to take care of their constituencies, then he looked stingy by opposing the bill to increase the $600 to $2000. That had to cost Perdue and Loeffler votes in the runoff, maybe enough to turn the tide, maybe not. What he should have done is have the senate amend the first house bill to take out the pork and raise the amount provided to everyone. Then he would have given Perdue and Loeffler something to run on instead of run against, and given the closeness of those elections, it might have been enough.

Mitch is going to be hard to dislodge because he apparently controls a lot of fundraising. Why and how he got there is a mystery to me, because he is basically useless, but he did and that would present a formidable challenge to any coup.
