Understand folks, the reason we have been so successful as a nation is that despite our differences, we have all believed in certain basic truths. Those basic truths are largely contained in the Constitution (perhaps more accurately, the Bill of Rights). When you start messing with the Bill of Rights, you are really undermining the only thing that actually binds us together as a nation. We are not a nation of common race, common religion, or even common language. We are nation bound together by a common belief in a set of ideas framed in a brilliant centuries old document that is as relevant today as when it was written. This sudden and radical turn toward authoritarianism and thought/speech suppression is as dangerous as it gets.

They honestly think they are the good guys in all this. Its astonishing.
