Dixie hanging with GCU
Down to the last couple minutes. 75-70. Dixie hanging in there against the Lopes.

Gooden had a good game for Dixie.

RE: Dixie hanging with GCU
GCU played and shot poorly in the first half. Picked it up in the 2nd half and played well, but Dixie stayed very close throughout, until they did get a 6 point lead in the closing minutes

But Dixie kept at it, hit some free throws late. GCU lost a long inbounds pass with 6.4 seconds with a 77-74 lead. Dixie got stripped of the ball and didn't get a shot off.

Final.

RE: Dixie hanging with GCU
Feels like Groundhog's Day watching these Lopes over the last 3 conference games: REALLY struggle for the first 30 minutes or so, then scratch out a win at the end. It's frustrating to watch, but also not likely sustainable when playing top of the WAC teams.

More than a couple people I know have also noted that Blacksher looks "off" and really hasn't been right since the ASU game. Maybe a sophomore slump, but GCU needs more out of him if we're going to be serious about challenging for the WAC title.

GCU looking good tonight. Still trying to figure out Dixie. Kind of a mystery team.

RE: Dixie hanging with GCU
I haven’t paid very close attention to Blackshear this year. Haven’t got to take in as many games most years, which all I possibly can ha ha.

I like what I see from GCU this year overall.

CBU has shaken off their loses to UVU and should finish in the top half of the league.

I haven’t seen UVU or Seattle hardly at all, so they are wild cards. Really anxious to see both play teams I’ve already seen play.

RGV feels similar to previous years. Most of the components are there but yet to be seen how they are assembled.

I’m planning and trying to catch a SUU game or 2 this season. Their arena looks nice. Very similar to Dixie, so they do have a good facility.
