Pelosi says bill upholding parents' rights in children's education, gender identity i
Quote:Nancy Pelosi believes legislation that would prevent schools from socially transitioning children without parental consent is a “threat” to so-called “trans children” because it would force schools to out them to their families.

Pelosi was speaking at a Los Angeles event hosted by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and took the opportunity to warn the assembled crowd of the threats on the horizon in the form of legislation targeting children.

“Yesterday, the extreme Republican majority in the House passed a bill that would force schools to out children to their families, and for kids in less accepting households that could put their safety and well-being at risk. But that was passed by the House of Representatives,” said Pelosi.

The bill Pelosi is referring to is the Parents’ Bill of Rights Act that was narrowly passed on March 24 by a vote of 213-208. The bill would require that elementary and middle schools obtain parental consent before allowing a child to socially transition, i.e. change their name and pronouns.

Pelosi assured the audience that the bill “won't become law. The President will never sign; it won't pass the Senate.”

“But nonetheless, they all voted for it,” she added.

A growing number of experts are speaking out against schools socially transitioning gender-confused students without the consent of parents.

Dr. Erica Anderson, a trans-identified male clinical psychologist with decades of experience treating children and adolescents suffering from gender dysphoria, said recently that social transition is a powerful psychotherapeutic intervention that “has the potential to increase the likelihood of persistence of gender incongruence.”

Anderson was testifying in support of the Wisconsin parents suing their school district after their daughter was allowed to adopt a male name and male pronouns without their knowledge.

“No professional medical association that I am aware of recommends social transition of children and adolescents without a careful assessment and treatment plan,” said Anderson.

Dr. Hilary Cass, former president of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, also believes social transition is “not a neutral act.” In the interim report of her independent review of England’s youth gender service, Cass stated, “it is important to view [social transition] as an active intervention because it may have significant effects on the child or young person in terms of their psychological functioning.”

“Sadly, this push at the federal level comes as…state legislatures have considered over 300 anti-LGBTQ plus bills in the last year, with trans children increasingly under threat,” continued Pelosi.

She cited the example of Texas where allowing children to undergo experimental sex changes is now considered to be child abuse, and expressed her astonishment that such interventions could be considered a crime.

Pelosi then spoke of her transgender “niece.”

“In our family, we are so proud of my niece Skylar, who transitioned with pride, dignity, and courage.” This announcement was met with applause.

Pelosi first spoke of Skylar's transition in 2020 during an interview after receiving the LGBTQ History Maker Award for her part in repealing the U.S. military’s "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell" law.

"Over the holidays, I found out my nephew is going to be Skylar. And we’re all filled with joy that Skylar has found her happiness," said Pelosi.

At the recent HRC event, Pelosi stressed the importance of showing love for “trans kids.”

“We see you; we stand with you. We love you and we will never rest until you enjoy the love and safety you deserve. That is our message to our trans kids,” she said.

Elsewhere in the world, nations are shifting away from affirmation and medical interventions for children and adolescents who believe themselves to be members of the opposite sex. Sweden, Finland, Norway, England and France have all reverted back to providing psychotherapeutic support to this vulnerable cohort of young people after systematic reviews of the scientific literature to support child sex changes revealed the evidence is of very low quality.

Pelosi closed by saying how people in San Francisco and the rest of California are so tolerant, but that when it comes to the LGBTQ+ community, tolerant is “a condescending word.”

“We're not tolerant. It's not about tolerance…It’s about respect. It's about we take pride. We take pride,” she concluded.

What I would like to know is what happens when 12 year old Johnny decides he wants to be Julie, then 10 year later after physically altering surgery, she decides she made a huge mistake? Does she have a legal right to go after those people responsible for letting that happen without any consent of her parents?

Parents are legally responsible for just about everything a minor does and a lot less significant than biological transitioning. But this, somehow, is not their responsibility? Can you imagine your child doing all of this without your knowledge or consent and years later them coming to you with regrets and an inability to fix it?

If I was a parent in that situation I would be looking for heads and bank accounts to roll.

If a legal adult wants to transition, they can own that decision. But when a minor does it and later regrets it, those responsible should be held 100% accountable - that includes parents, doctors and any other advisor who encouraged that decision.

They really think (not their offspring of course) that children belong to the State.

Why is students talking to teachers about sex so popular now? When I was a student only 20 years ago, teachers taught you math & how to read. Your teacher didn't talk to you about what happens in your bedroom. That's gross! You don't want your teacher to know!

I'd say there should be a middle ground somewhere between respecting kid's privacy & parental rights, but why the hell are students suddenly so vocal about talking to teachers about sex???? No teachers were violating parental rights 20 years ago so why is Pelosi & the liberals who vote for her party trying to protect them now?

Wait. That evil hag is concerned about "outing" the kids?

Ummm...when little Johnny starts wearing dresses and lipstick, won't that be pretty obvious to all?

That lady is truly mentally ill.

Nope. They make money with all the hormones and surgeries on the front end……..then, if they change their minds - hormones for a lifetime on the back end.

This whole thing and these people are as disgusting as it gets.

The brilliant master legislator Nancy doesnt think cross dressing and gender change surgery might "out" them to family members? Not only are these folks nuts----they are bag of hammers stupid as well.

Why should they not be "outed" to parents?
