We're #291 of 340 in 3-pt. shooting percentage, and yet we're #30 of 340 in number of 3-pt. shots taken. Henson is running the team into the ground by letting us jack up shots from everywhere and anywhere and not moving the ball around for better shots when 3-pointers are actually our weakness.

Take a look at the stats from four of our top five in minutes played...

Jackson is shooting .575 (61-106) in 2-pointers, and .301 (25-83) in 3-pointers.
Parrish is shooting .549 (28-51) in 2-pointers, and .208 (5-24) in 3-pointers.
Ivy-Curry is shooting .531 (26-49) in 2-pointers, and .222 (6-27) in 3-pointers.
Wallace is shooting .486 (36-74) in 2-pointers, and .294 (30-102) in 3-pointers.

Btw, our center, Jacob Germany is actually not a very efficient scorer for us because he's nearly 7 feet tall, and tends to get the ball closer to the hoop than most, but actually has the lowest 2-point shooting percentage of our top five minute earners at .476 (50-105). He's not as effective against the guys guarding him at his position as others are against the guys guarding them.

Stop jacking up **** from everywhere, and make it your team focus to work the ball around for better shots. Take the threes only when the opportunities present themselves. We're shooting .506 (270-534) of our 2-pointers and .299 from beyond the arc, and yet 40% of our shots taken are 3-pointers.

All that said, you wanna know who has been money for us from beyond the arc? Erik Czumbel has. Three other guys have taken more threes than he has, but he has hit 14 of 33 from beyond the arc for a .424 clip, a far better percentage than anyone else on the team. So is he just a better pure shooter than Jackson and Wallace then? Probably not, but he's more judicious of when he takes his, which is what I'm saying the rest of the team should do as well. Henson needs to take charge and change the mindset of what we're trying to do out there away from pushing tempo and jacking up threes to just playing smarter.

Last but not least, we're hitting over 75% of our free throws as a team, which puts us at #44 of 340 in the nation. Working the ball around and trying to get a better shot will likely put us at the line more often as well, which actually would play to our strength.

Great observations. And having watched UTSA in back to back games in the last 48 hours, I can say that I agree with your analysis. I was a little shocked at some of the wild shots Jackson and Wallace took last night. Jackson in particular, just throws stuff up from all over the place.

Of course, when it works, it works big. Like last year, when Jackson scorched Tech for 37 points in SA to win big. But last night, Jackson took 17 shots and connected on only 4, for .235%. Wallace was slightly better last night, shooting 7 of 23 in FG's, for .304. They both shot 25% from 3-pt land.

I'm sure it's tough to be a teammate of these two guys with them throwing up a combined 40 shots between the two of them. It's just too much. You gotta have more options than that. For the record, the Tech player that took the most shots last night was Isaiah Crawford, and he finished the night 5 of 11, for .454.
