Exactly. Swamp is gonna swamp, and it'll just saddle us and our kids with a lot more debt. Just keep kicking the can down the road.

Did you have that same opinion when McConnell blew the deficit up with those tax cuts?

Didnt happen. Receipts into the treasury rose after the tax cuts went into effect. THe deficit blowup was due primarily to Obamacare, passed by a democratic senate, house, and whitehouse.

This is probably a feature we need to see if GTS can add in.

Yes - sorry for not being able to quote her exactly, but when asked how she planned to pay for the green new deal her answer was...

We'll just pay for it!

I'm not addressing the print print print because I personally would rather Americans spend their money than those in congress. So I'm not totally against it. I'm against all the pork that goes along with it.

But since those tax cuts the the largest employer in the United States has raised their wages from $8 or $10 dollars an hour to $12 to $15 dollars starting out pay. I cant speak to across America in large cities. But that's what it was mostly in small town USA.

That increase started happening with in weeks of the tax cuts. Now tell me, isnt that what a tax cut suppose to do?

Both of my sons (now 26 and 30) have doubled what they were making before Trump took office and the tax cuts. The oldest stopped teaching and went to Walmart and went from a department team leader making 40k (teaching he was 29k but good benefits) and 18 months later manager/team leader over all of food service. Making 62k a year. Three years ago that same job was 48k. 18 months from now he's looking at a store manger...$125k, if the democrats dont tax them into a slowdown

My youngest went from food service making 18k (27k with tons of OT) to a new line at Acola where he made 44k 2020. That new line did not happen till Trump attacked the cheap China Steel flooding America. Cheap in more ways than one and With Biden that job may be in danger.

I personally had 6 people that were longtime renters from us that work at WalMart. I'm talking middle age low 40s to 50 year old. With the pay increase they have become home owners for the first time in their life.

Whats wrong with that tax cut? Its the way a tax cut is suppose to work and it did just that. Maybe not so much in high price cities. But for lower working class...wages are up across the board

I think a lot of that is inflation. We've given pay raises at my company, with the goal of $20/hr minimum, but when I look at the rising in cost of everything else, it may not be enough to keep pace. It's great for the new homeowners that they can lock in these low and for your sons (they may want to buy homes now too). However, in 5 years they may be further behind. I read somewhere that 20% of all US dollars were printed this year. My point is that I feel that the tax cuts should have waited until we really needed an economic recovery, like 2020. Now the only option is to print.

Just stop right there. Really. Do a little high school math and you will see, (especially since we had what was considered stagnant inflation rates for the past 4 years) that what he quoted you was WAAAAAYYYYY higher than inflation. The simple facts are:

A) Trump did great on the economy, and
2) you would just as soon cut your own nose off to spite your face.
c) If Trump came out tomorrow and said "strawberry is a particular flavor of ice cream", you would call him a racist and never eat ice cream again.

If the Biden administration can't figure out how to use the Bureau of Labor Statistics and get the checks to those that need it...They should be called out for it. This does not look to be that complicated. If you have not lost a job?...You don't need it. If you are getting an unemployment subsidy that ends up allowing you to make more than your regular salary?...You don't need it. I bet you pretty much everyone that has stayed employed has added to their savings due to having extra income that they usually would have spent on leisure activities. Get the money to those really in need and the businesses that have been destroyed.

RE: Chairman Joe. The lies begin
This is a tricky one to sort out because people are all over the place. Some businesses are absolutely booming, lot of people are pretty normal still, economically, and others are so strapped and have no idea when their jobs might be back, if ever.

Its similar to, yet different than a major recession.

Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters. It was certainly the best one on Honky Chateau. I lean more towards Madman Across the Water as a favorite myself.

"The New York Times writes admiringly that Biden “stays above the fray” and “has maintained a studied cool” as he works toward “lowering the political temperature.” The president-elect, notes the Times, has deferred to Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats in Congress. That’s one way of looking at it. Here’s another: Turning this critical political moment over to Pelosi and her enraged colleagues seems more like submission than deferral. It reads as weakness".

Ya think?
