As such a student of history you should also know that the party’s basically flipped platforms at the turn of the century with democrats moving away from states rights to government services as they tried to woo western expansion voters and republicans moving away from government services to become the small government platform as big business no longer needed the federal services to supply infrastructure to fund expansion.

It’s not like the republican of Lincoln’s era has anything in common with the policies and beliefs of the current republicans.

The parties were one party opposite the Whigs until about 30 years before the civil war.

I don't get it, I don't even understand why the Swedish that settled there in the early 1800s didn't keep moving after the first winter. It's a great place, but only for 9 months of the year.

I flew into The twin cities one time. Seeing the two skylines was really cool. I was impressed. It is awfully cold for people who probably grew up in hot and humid conditions.

I’ve been there a lot, it’s a great place until winter hits. Sept is great in downtown Minneapolis, everybody knows what’s coming so they are out at rooftop bars and patios enjoying the fall. Lots of cool little neighborhoods like St. Anthony’s Main. Pretty good food.
