Ha! They seemed to shake the rust off after that initial stretch.

Gee I miss Alex Riley. I appreciate the new Seahawk Perch...but in his analysis of yesterday's game he simply noted that Bowen didn't play. Was he even on the bench?
And what is the latest with Phillips? And what's the deal with Carr?
There is little to no actual reporting anymore.

They were scoring from the pain almost at will at one point. One wonders why we did not adjust more.

I definitely question coaches' adjustments yesterday. Both defensively, and doing the same exact thing at the end of the game and becoming very predicable.

RE: UNCW at Towson
I’m not advocating zoning all game but to give a different look at times. A 2/2/1 press/Diamond/something 3 /4 court would even work for me at times with some trapping and ball pressure. You simply can’t lay down defensively like we did yesterday if you’re built like we are. Even just general ball pressure needs to get back to standard. Help has to to earlier with recovery or clean switches with communication. I didn’t like what we did yesterday and can live with the result if we sell out and play hard. Need more drives and kicks-better player and ball movement on offense.

Honestly...
It's hard for me to even listen to complaints about this right now. For reasons. We all know the main reason. Then on top of that, let's not forget THAT was why we lost games the last time we were successful. Granted, we were successful. But when we did lose, it was because once teams broke our press they absolutely monstered us in the paint.

His mentor never adjusted either. This isn't surprising to me, and I don't expect him to adjust.

My best guess on that, is that the amazing fella behind "The Perch" simply doesn't have the access to Coach Siddle and the team in the way that Alex Riley did. Those are both topics that would need to be answered directly by the coach.
I'm going to stand by the opinion I've made since earlier this season... we should stop expecting to see Carr in a Seahawk uniform. As far as Phillips goes, his timeline has consistently been pushed back. The team not being able to practice for almost two weeks certainly pushed that back as well, I would have to believe. We probably won't see him until February at the earliest. The way this season is going. If I were the team/him, I would begin the process to get a medical waiver to get a year of eligibility back and just put this season on ice.

Lord, we all miss that beautiful ginger man, Alex Riley. May he RIP.
As for the Perch's access, it's something we're working on at the moment. Because I'm not in Wilmington and not traveling for games, there's some stuff I'm missing on the news end, but we have a couple of students onboard and are looking for more that can can give us the benefit of being on the ground.
From today, it looks like Bowen isn't there. Commentator says nine Seahawks dressed, so that's starters + Harvey, Dodd, Tolefree, Jenkins.

Winning the turnover battle 8-2.
Yesterday Towson only had 8 turnovers in the entire game

We took our foot off the gas there. 10 point lead cut to 4 to end the 1st half

The color guy for Towson is a ridiculous homer, he doesn't even try to hide it "WE" all the time.
When a UNCW guy was attempting to steal from behind, he literally just yelled " Watch it behind you" LOL WTH....

Boggs is getting muscled around big time today.
Terrible, terrible stretch of basketball, down 10 now in a combined 14-2 run by Towson. Little defense, and terrible shot selection once again.

RE: UNCW at Towson
We look terrible. These Two days have been a CB esk showing. No adjustments, getting smacked inside(shocker with no size i know), no offensive identity, terrible shot selection, giving up layups and dunks. There is NO reason this team should get swept by Towson. Another tough, forced shot with the game on the line. Where was Simms? Where was Bowen these last two games?
We were lucky to get back into this due to being the benefit of some questionable calls.
Every bit of optimism i had pre conference is fading.
Siddle got outcoached by Skerry much of the last two games.

If you play small, you have to make people pay with speed and pace, didn’t happen. Harvey and Okauru played good today.
And yes, pounded on the glass again. At least Pridgen fought hard down there.

Pridgen is another mystery, he was largely MIA offensively the last two games
