The Total Destruction of MT Athletics
For the first time since the era of the Great Depression back in the 1930's, Middle Tennessee has had back-to-back losing seasons in football and basketball at the same. It's literally been almost 100 years. Worse yet to come as it will got to the three straight next year.

If there was ever a statistical nugget that showed the entire university leadership needs to be purged of it's current occupants it's this. We need a complete Memphis style housing cleaning.

MT stands for mental thrashing-- at least that is what their frustrated fans are going through right now.

Amazing how low my alma mater has fallen. 03-weeping I'm gonna just rationalize that this whole nightmare is a one-time anomaly. 03-zzz Next year, everything is gonna be just great in FB and MBB at Middle Tennessee. 03-cloud9 Of course, that is why FAN is short for FANATIC. 03-drunk

So it’s confirmed now MTSU hired the “Mike Sanford” of hoops. I know when he was first hired it seemed that way..

McDevitt makes Sanford look like Don Shula. Perhaps you and I are the only two that saw it. I called this for what it was the moment it happened. Wish I would have been wrong.

The only real difference is you had leadership that said welp we ****** that one up. Whereas we don't have any leadership. We just have a bunch monkeys telling us that all is well.

I said this was a sketchy hire from the beginning. . In 21 years of playing and coaching NM had never been outside the bubble of Asheville. That should have been the biggest red flag there is.

You say that but wku would have fired Kermit 2005/2006 or 2006/2007 years for sure. Maybe give this guy 15 years and he will turn it around also.

Kermit had one losing season in 17 years and that was only 15-17 or something like that. Not even remotely comparable to what's happening right now.

Yep. But that was only just one of the red flags.

Others were he lost his best players consistently to transfer. He never beat anyone of any marquee in the non-conference. Style of play was predicated not on sound fundamental basketball but having better athletes in a weak conference. Those just for starters. I identified about a half dozen more three years ago and I got railed on by my own comrades that talked about how Kermit left him a **** show and how he needed all this time to fix things. Yet a few weeks before he was hired, MT was in the top 25. That's some **** show of a program he was left with. Ironically, his best season so far was his first one with the scrubs left from Kermit's last team.

In two and a half seasons, he's won a total 10 games against D1 opposition. Ten! That's it.

My point still stands. We fired a guy who got to the ncaa I think 3 times just Cause he wasn’t winning enough.
