Thanks for sharing your feelings on the matter!

RE: Official Transfer Thread
Why don't we shut down this thread. If we need a FB transfer thread, someone can start one.

Looks like a lot of guys hi-jacked this with longwinded speeches about their own agendas. Way to go.
this happens on about 1 out of every 5 threads.
Depends on one's definition of agenda. This is an EMU sports forum.
So someone says I would like more EMU alums coaching at EMU. I don't consider that an agenda. It is a statement saying that for various reasons that person is likely to be successful.
Or we need to recruit more players from S.E. Michigan.
Now if someone says, e.g., Georgetown should only recruit Catholic players. That is an agenda.
One would have a hard time demonstrating that Catholic players are better than non-Catholic players.
One would assume that the statement has to do with religion not sports.
So agendas have more to do with an issue, say public policy, than sports. Maybe how to deal with trans athletes in high school. Paying athletes.
One could argue that a statement such: "ALL FBS players should be paid 10K stipend per year as compensation for their 'work'." That is an agenda.
One could then argue that if such ever came to pass, that EMU and most MAC schools would have financial issues with same. That a governance issue ("Can we afford to comply???").
So issuing about hiring alums and where to recruit are obviously sports issues. No one would claim that recruiting S.E. MI is related to some agenda. I'm sure Heath would recruit a kid from Italy if he were a player.
Issues like sexual orientation, race, religion, compensation, unionization, etc. tend to be public policy issues. They frequently end up with agendas.
Lastly are a group of issue related to governance. Should have EMU dropped sports to 'balance the budget.' That is a legitimate governance issue. What it does to Title IX is also a governance issue. Can it be an agenda? Perhaps. If someone says, "We should drop FB to increase funding for women's athletics. It needs to be done because of past inequalities..." That to me is an agenda.
You literally proved my point, thank you. You just took the opportunity to ramble on about your own thoughts instead of "Official Transfer Thread."
