This is disgusting, I'm disgusted as an American. These people are not "protesting", they are attempting to stop the transition of power by disrupting the certification of the electoral college vote.

There was a tweet from a Republican congressman that the rumor was that it was Antifa doing this. What a bunch of idiots. As if Antifa would have any reason to protest Biden winning. They're anti-fascist, not anti-democracy.

I would say the extreme vast majority of people from the summer are saying the same thing today of the rioters in the Capitol. Thankfully so far nobody has died yet (though it looks like one rioter got herself shot in the neck), and most of the crowd is not going in, but yes, the people inside the Capitol have become exactly what they hate, and no amount of Antifa riots justifies it.

Every member of the Trump administration is calling on the violence to stop and Pence, Eric Trump saying rioters should be prosecuted.

This is why I said you shouldn’t worry overall, it’s not the elected officials but the crazy cosplayers who cause the trouble. You may not be very comforted tomorrow, and the transition will be acrimonious and much salt will be exchanged on Twitter, but it’s going to be peaceful.
