RE: Hofstra
Very nice sweep! Was proud of the guys for taking a haymaker from Hofstra during the first 7 minutes of the 2nd half and sticking with it. Plenty of opportunity to fold there they didn't. Lot of big 3s by Tyson to get things back on track and then others followed along. As discussed, we will have those offensive droughts at times this year but need to play through them as well as possible.

Some crazy stuff. 37 of our 57 attempts were 3's. We were killed on the boards. But we limited turnovers very well. Our defense was pretty great throughout all around. Emenga continues to really take advantage of the opportunity the bigs being out has given him.

Will think abut Charleston during the week. Everyone should enjoy this weekend for a day or two

Crazy game. Walker saved our ^ss. I have a feeling that having the tiebreaker over them will pay off. They've got too much talent to not be up there at the end.

We got a lot deeper over the last week. That will come in handy in a year where we play a lot of back to backs.

Another solid win. As NUGuy said, Tyson saved us today. Emanga frustrated Kante for a lot of this game.

No one in this league has the depth NU has. And everyone is coming back next year.

We move on to CofC.

RE: Hofstra
One last thought that I meant to include earlier. It would be shortsighted to overlook Coen and his coaches for the team being where we are. Maybe with other coaches who were looking at five freshmen and a transfer and only a couple of proven returners they would deserve to be expected to finish seventh. Not Coen.

I love his out of conference schedule philosophy. I think we had the twelfth most difficult schedule in division one. How can a CAA team scare you when you've already faced Cuse, Georgia, West Virginia, ODU, etc?

They develop players. Emanga was not a contributor last year. This weekend he saved our bacon. When Walters arrived his stat lines were empty so he was redshirted. He had almost as many turnovers as rebounds but by the end of the following year he was solid and he beat Hofstra for us on Thursday.

He is a really good X and O guy. It never occured to us that Emanga might be the solution to out Kante problem. Coen was ready with plan B when Kante torched Strong for a quick ten points.

I was thrilled when our AD was the first to cogratulate Bill after the game. He was wearing a mask but his eyes told the story. If it wasn't for Covid Konya would've given him a big long bear hug.

You made some great points...

That was great to see Jeff congratulate Coen after the game. He had a hand in scheduling those OOC games for the team as well. So you know he's happy it's paying dividends.

This is going to be a grind in conference play and I think the team, as long as they stay healthy, has the pieces to stay at the top of the league.

They just have to continue to value the basketball and play together.

Looking forward to the CofC series.
