Wink HAPPY NEW YEAR TO DUKES EVERYWHERE...WELCOME 2021!
Lost the national title game in Frisco. A promising season was cut short for the Dukes Women's Hoops team. Lou Rowe was fired and replaced. The spring sports and then later fall sports were knocked out by COVID. What a tough year for everyone. And, of course, collegiate sports are an after-thought to the bigger issues facing the world and country throughout 2020.

But, 2021 brings hope. We are getting ready to (hopefully) experience one of the busiest times in JMU Sports history after being in neutral for most of 2020. If we can avoid shutdowns, by late February we will have football, men's and women's hoops, volleyball, softball, baseball, and others all going at the same time. Let's hope.

I look forward to it. I'd like to see the Football Dukes back in Frisco, this time in May. The Softball Dukes winning another regional and getting another shot at a Super Regional to get to the elusive College World Series. How's about the Men's Hoops team step up and start overachieving for a change? And, Sean O'Regan...dude, it's past time to win a CAA title and get into the NCAAT. Let's get 'er done. Will Ike ever field a legit baseball team in his era as HC at JMU? Or, is just making the CAAT as a 6-seed the target? Lacrosse...men's and women's soccer...tennis...golf...track & field...busy winter and spring days ahead if we can avoid spread.

Welcome 2021...you absolutely HAVE TO BE better than 2020.

My fear for 2021: "Hey, 2020, nice work. Hold my beer a while will ya?"
