SoCon Media Deals - ESPN + CBSSN + Nexstar Media
Looks like over the last half year the SoCon has renewed their ESPN agreement.

Extended through the 2026 season airing over 800 games each year on ESPN3/+ and added more games to the linear channels.

Quote:As part of the new pact, there is an increase in SoCon men’s basketball regular-season home telecasts that will air on an ESPN network each year, as well as an expanded men’s basketball tournament broadcast schedule that will include both the semifinals and championship game over the six years.

Also, very recently the SoCon announced selling some basketball games, which they retained the rights for, to CBSSN. At least 5 MBB games will air on CSBSN

Quote:“We are excited about finalizing a long-term partnership with CBS Sports Network for regular-season men’s basketball, beginning for the 2021-22 season,” SoCon Commissioner Jim Schaus said. “The addition of this national television package with CBS Sports Network, combined with our current agreement with ESPN, will provide the Southern Conference with double-digit national linear men’s basketball telecasts every year and will signify the largest national television package in conference history.

Add this to the continuing relationship with Nexstar Regional Broadcast network which aired 9 Football Games of the Week.

Quote:Nexstar affiliates with the opportunity to air games are: ECBD (Charleston), WGHP (Greensboro/High Point), WJHL (Johnson City), WWCW (Lynchburg/Roanoke) and WYCW (Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville). New for this season, WMYT in Charlotte, North Carolina, will carry the entire football package. Although not a Nexstar station, WMUB (Macon), Mercer University Broadcasting, will also air select contests.

The SoCon commissioner is getting it done.
