My expectation throughout has been that we'll see Hudson, Wiggins and Forrest drafted. I also expect, as long as Fickell is in charge, that at least three draft picks a year will be the norm.

PFF draft prospect rankings:

T James Hudson #140 Overall [15th of 30 rated at the position]

S James Wiggins #162 Overall [12th of 27 rated at the position]

S Darrick Forrest #217 Overall [19th of 27 rated at the position]

Hudson is a steal at 140.

Hudson was a mid round pick during last season...surprises me a bit people still have him slated there after the press he was getting in Sr. game and pro days...still wish he would have come back for a final year of tape to possibly become a top 2 round guy.

He had a bad pro day

His 2 biggest games as a Bearcat (CCG and Peach Bowl back to back) were also probably his 2 worst games as a Bearcat. Uncharacteristically, lots of missed assignments and penalties. Wonder how much more weight those 2 tapes have.

I haven't broken down the tape but the fact that we scored all our points on the first half plus one play and then the offense completely shut down shows how good he was as a player. After the senior bowl he was blowing up after people got to see him in person. No one questions his on field production. As Mark said this is completely due to his pro day. And I know people think that measurables are overrated but it was bad enough where people have called into question if he can be an NFL starting tackle at his size/athleticism.

Is anyone able to elaborate more on the bad pro day?

He scored roughly around 60th percentile in general athleticism traits, and his bench press number was downright poor (22 reps, the same as Forrest and Wiggins).

I think Doaks gets drafted based on his skills without the ball. He's a very unselfish player that's willing to do whatever it takes to be successful. He fits the Steelers profile perfectly.

Can you pull your name out in the middle of the draft (say, if you aren't selected by Friday night in the first three rounds), and still return to school?

Maybe...but you typically don't see many RBs taken late in the draft. I would be fairly surprised if he is drafted, but he will most certainly get a camp invite and I wouldn't be surprised with him making a 53-man roster at the end of the summer.
