And this is why it’s so important to host a super, ECU wins this series at home, but the NCAA has made it perfectly clear an AAC team will never host.

You think ECU deserved a national seed?

Not this year, but we deserved it in 2019 when we had an RPI of 5 and dominated the league.

The last 4 super regional games ECU has faced 4 first round draft pick pitchers. Unreal.

So many ways to go with this...

UCF fans thinking the world revolves around them and injecting themselves into anything related to USF?

UCF manufacturing something that's not real like their national championship?

USF living so rent free in a UCF fan's mind (who's also ostensibly smart enough to have gotten a job as the managing editor of the Sentinel, and clearly does such a piss poor job at it that he still allows Mike Bianchi to still work there) that he's obsessing over watching a USF game at midnight on a Sunday night?

LOL! I guess the #52 on the jersey for Jeff Zubia gives it away.

Does anyone know if the regular season AAC round robin tournament that was talked about will take place next year? Will help a little bit with the imbalance of the schedule.

To refresh your memory

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.basebal...%3Famphtml

“ The coaches found a novel solution by going back to the future. Next year, on the first weekend of conference play, the American will put on a pair of four-team, round-robin tournaments hosted by Central Florida and South Florida. The tournaments will count as conference games and, over the next seven weeks, the teams will play conventional three-game series, giving them a total of 24 conference games. How the teams will be divided into pods for the opening weekend tournaments has not yet been decided but will involve a formula to help balance the fields”

Ponies aren't alone. UNT and UTEP don't have baseball either. SMU does have equestrian and men's soccer, though

Equestrian, now there is a money maker with national appeal, why aren't other AAC members adding this sport?

This might be the sports that brings BSU to the AAC, the Broncos must add the Ponies.

I guarantee that "Men's Equestrian" and "Men's Soccer" are there because a donor/donors gave the $$$ for them to be there. So, if there is a wealthy SMU alum who loves baseball ponies (pun intended) the money to start a baseball program (probably along with the $$$ to balance the Title IX implications...softball would be the obvious option) then it would happen.

As to why Boise (and Temple before them) cut men's baseball...well, if the money isn't there then neither is the program.

So apparently, the 3 finalists for the LSU head coaching job were Arizona coach Jay Johnson, Notre Dame coach Link Jarrett and East Carolina coach Cliff Godwin. Godwin interviewed on June 17 in Birmingham, Alabama, along with Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco. LSU went with Jay Johnson. 03-phew

Godwin previously turned down the Miss. State job. According to Stephen Igoe on Hoist the Colours, "Miss. State showed up at his house and wanted to fly him into Starkville, interview him and likely offer him the job on campus. He was their top candidate. He declined to go. They still followed up with him multiple times and tried to entice him but he eventually just said no I’m out." Link

Gavin going as the 23rd pick has an almost magical aura about it to me. Keith had a hand in it no doubt in my mind!
