Assuming no last minute surprises, it appears that there is actually going to be some more Drexel Basketball this afternoon up in Teaneck, NJ.

Knights are 1-5. The lost their first 5 games before beating CCST in the 2nd game of a 2 game home series to open up NEC play.

They were blown out in their first 3 games. Opened up with a 84-66 loss to a Quinnipiac team that Drexel beat twice. They also lost by 15 to Hofstra.

But despite these bad losses, FDU was picked to finish first in the NEC. They were 11-19, 9-9 last season.

I will predict a 84-71 win for the Dragons today.

Drexel struggling with FDU's strong full court press. This game has the feel of a game that will be close for a while, but it seems like Drexel will eventually take control of the game. Hope I'm not jinxing things by writing this.

I would have picked us to win by about 15. We were 4.5 point favorites. We are not playing well. They are a small team and we are not using that to our advantage.

Very unusual broadcast production for a Division 1 basketball game. It feels like I'm watching a JV high school game on the school district's public access channel. They're playing in a gym that's not up to DI standards with the bleachers pushed back to the walls. The cameras are at a very low angle for a TV broadcast. It's like watching the game from the 3rd row of the bleachers instead of a standard overhead shot.

We are not using our size. That was a lazy pass intercepted late by them. Walton isnt doing much to help us out there. Butler got beat on 2 easy moves for layups. For the same way they are using their quickness and lack of size we need to be pounding it down low and killing them at the basket. No reason our forwards cant be scoring at will. We took plenty of open 3's and they will come off as good shots/looks but settling for 3s when they arent falling isnt a winning strategy. Nice to be up, but no reasons we shouldnt be able tp pull away this half

I'm looking at the first half play by play and it appears that a commercial timeout was taken at 4:18 in lieu of the media timeout. Anyone know why that would have happened?

Its a free video. 0 complaints from me. The low angle can be annoying since it misses the near corners. So when the ball is there you cant see it. From our standpoint we dont need to see missed corner 3s from Walton, so its ok, but in general I dont disagree with your take. Without fans I have no issues with them closing the bleachers. The DAC would look similar if they closed them.

Totally agree. I noticed that too, and things seemed to change a bit at the end of the half when Drexel's 3's weren't falling. Hopefully adjustments will be made for a strong second half.

I thought thats what happened but not sure why they did that. Supposed to be under 4 then they combine with the team timeout. Above not sure I have ever seen it combined. Timer can chime in on that one

51-40 Drexel. After FDU took a 40-39 lead, Drexel went on a 12-0 run at the 16U timeout.

We have done nothing but pound the ball at the basket and we have now scored 12 straight and lead 51-40

Our approach this half has been the correct one. I think we have taken 2 3's that i recall. We just keep attacking the smaller less athletic team. We are getting rewarded with baskets or foul shots as a result. They cant stop us.
