Arkansas State's GOAT is Coming Home

For many of you, your teams weren't around when Aplin was running roughshod through the SBC but for those that were, you know he was the face of the conference and especially ASU for 2011 & 2012 under Freeze and Malzahn. His most famous moment came in his senior year when he reportedly told MTSU that when we won the coin-toss "it's over"; he and the Red Wolves went on to win 45-0 in the de facto CCG.

I’m sure there are plenty of qualified assistant coaches out there that can coach RBs, but smart move by Butch to bring back a fan favorite.

Nothing wrong with some home cooking to help get on the fans good side right out of the box. I think it’s a smart move, someone that can also help recruit, go into that home and tell a kid what a great experience it is to play at stAte.

Jones has learned a few things. He is bringing in a fan favorite who is going to be a great coach in the future. He is also retaining a highly qualified young coach that the players love. He's making both the fan base and players happy in addition to getting quality coaches. He'll bring in his own picks for all the rest. Everybody feels like they got something they wanted.

A portion of our fanbase including a local radio guy wanted Aplin as our Head Coach. Uh.....yeah no, RB coach is perfectly fine.
