Lol.

Then we win.

Then every other fan base says. . .

I miss the days when everyone said we support the successes of others.

Everyone supported the success of CCU all year, including App fans after your first win against us. Then the coach decided to whine about playing a conference game. Let’s not try and rewrite the prior support.

Anyone have an extra ticket for sale? I'll be in MB Saturday through Christmas Eve for the bowl game and would like to see this one in person too.

How much crap did Hudspeth get for saying how hard it is to travel to Boone? Which is the 2nd best trip for the Cajuns in the conference.

Chadwell stated he didn’t even want to play a league game. It might hurt their chances at an undefeated season. Not very professional of him.

I agree Chadwell deserves it but I’m talking about people fussing about Coastal fans on this board bragging about their success this season.

Let them be boisterous, they deserve the opportunity to run their mouth. But come Saturday they will get whooped.

I do like our chances, especially since we had an extra week to prepare and rest. 05-stirthepot

I have zero issue with CC fans bragging. They have had a great year. Chadwhine, on the other hand, is a frigging baby who deserves to get dragged for his ridiculous comments.

Wow, you’d think there wasn’t a game to talk about...

Look, there’s about 4 CCU fans here, me one of them. I know I’ve said it, pretty sure at least 1 other, but I think 2 others, have all acknowledged in one of these here threads that this year is a one off, whacked out year, because of the circumstances. It’s well known and understood rankings aren’t apples to apples comparisons with last year, or any other. What more can we do about it? Fine, throw out the damn rankings comparisons if you want.

If instead, you’re gonna set limits on what qualifies as success, for our program or the league, based solely on the # of league championships, or CG wins, then we’ll have to agree to disagree. Simple as that.

One of y’all said it above, success has many measurements: Conference titles, CG wins, division titles, CFPs (will never happen), NY6 bowls, bowl wins, highest rankings, highest ranked opponent beaten, undefeated regular seasons, winning seasons in a row, national TV exposures, GameDay, etc... Isn’t a team in this league that isn’t gonna claim “success” when they hit these milestones, and we’ve hit a bunch this year. Sorry we don’t have the track record long term yet... Our bad. Give us time. But we’re gonna be happy about what we have accomplished, some of which it is true, like it or not, that y’all haven’t. And we are gonna say we’ve had successes that y’all haven’t, because... it’s true. But keep telling us we haven’t had any level of success yet, then wonder why we bristle... Really isn’t that hard to understand, is it?

As for Chadwell and his comments... stew on them all you want. Really doesn’t matter. Take them as petty, great, personally we think you’re being jaded/naive. Take them in the context of this one, wacky year, where “the norm” was the majority of major conferences doing exactly what he complained about the Sun Belt not doing, then they’re not out of place.

Forgive a program, that you’re all in one breath quick to remind has never been in this rare air before, for thinking that once there, people care. The NCAA agreed via their own suggestions, multiple other conferences did the same, the schools (CCU and Troy) had it worked out agreeably, even the opposing coach concurred with the notion aloud... only one who didn’t aside from the self-righteous here, was the Commish. It ended with that for us. But not here... People want to on and on, dismissing the uniqueness of that one game, talking about it like it’s just any random given conference game, anybody’s choice at any time, or will ever happen again...

Chances are we will never find out how any other coach/fanbase would have truly reacted, because this crazy year will hopefully never see anything like it again. I’m absolutely positive it’d follow the same pattern for half the other programs, if the shoe were on their foot, based on the entitlement most y’all have espoused in bashing us. Ironic that in this one facet, YOU ALL are the ones “who have never been there before”. You have that luxury, and zero room to speak on it from experience, solely conjecture.

Lastly, it’s absurd to think the comments or our Coach are negatively impacting our team in any way... preparing them for a let down, or whatever nonsense has been said to that effect. This team has played the underdog, no respect, Us vs Everyone card all year long. This is more of the same. Period. Voted last preseason, dismissed for BYU win because BYU had to travel/take game on short notice, “disrespected” by the CFP, the league office for not touting us (or bagging Troy)... it’s all the same. And if you think that JC is a one trick pony where that’s always going to be his “go to”, or he isn’t smart enough to think about what’s he’s saying and how it’ll impact the team... don’t know what to tell you other than prepare to keep getting your behinds whooped.

Anyways, isn’t there a game coming up?

Yes. I think reports I’ve seen of you guys working with your quarterback on the run game, play into our hands. After the first go around where his arm was the liability, I think we will be expecting to attack the run more, and playing more for that situation.

I think if we came out with a game plan like we used against Georgia State in our first match up, we would’ve felt much better against y’all. I’m hoping it pans out. But I’m confident. Any improvement on defense should make the difference. Our offense did OK against y’all. Despite you guys having a massive front line that really got after McCall as well as anybody has all year.

Those reports are overblown. only difference for Levi is to actually run when its open. in the past, he would try to make a play with his arm even if 10 yards in front of him was open to run.
man that first game was fun to watch. I think Coastal controlled most of all the key areas most coaches say you need to win. yall were efficient passing, controlled clock, and won turnover battle. Louisiana, dropped passes, missed open receivers, missed a ton of tackles and gave a gift turnover putting Coastal almost in the redzone. with all that, it was a walk off field goal game.
I expect Louisiana to improve more than Coastal in the execution part of this game and be able to control the game this go around.

I think for you guys to have a real chance, it has to include you being up at half. By at least a score. We make better adjustments. All year long.

I also think you have to bring pressure and take your chances. Replacement LT could be an Achilles. If you don’t try to take advantage, shameful.

Both teams pride themselves on making better adjustments than the other team, so i will just call that another push in this contest. speaking of the LT injury, Do you agree with coach Chadwell that Coastal is the underdog?

Two separate things, imo. The kid was rock solid all year, that’s not coach speak. McCall has had very good protection from the whole line, but blindside... I mean there’s a movie...
The replacement is a kid who was raw outta HS, but country strong, with huge frame. Hasn’t been able to add mass or he’d be a beast. Has held up well at times, but Cajuns will be a real test.
All that said, I think we can adapt. We’ve primarily run off the right side, for our best success.

As for the underdog... like I said, this year, it’s been the rally cry. No respect, etc, etc. I’d have been shocked if he said anything else. Just easy to lump everything under, the no week off, the prep time, the injuries... it’s a mind set that lets him build up a chip on their shoulders. And it’s not like it isn’t warranted... I mean it was just 3 months ago we were voted last. That doesn’t just disappear after 11-0. It’s still pretty obvious a lot of people think, “you haven’t proven anything till you WIN the conference.” Still not there. Still naysayers. Still people pointing out at every turn that “yeah, you won, but we still own the series W/L”, Etc.

Do I REALLY think it... honestly, unsure. More worried about missing starting ILB Kelly (one of mullet bros’) and possibly the dinged up OLB Gladney. We need strong play at the second level, against your OL and run game. I know if I go back and think, “man, had 1-2 plays gone the other way, we’d have lost”, it’d be the game against y’all more than any other...
But, to say I agree 100%, then at heart I’d have to think we are likely to lose, as the underdog should. I’d don’t. I believe we will win. By a bigger margin than before. So, no, can’t say we are the underdog.

CCU benefitted from more rest than opponents in the regular season, please don’t bring that up for this game.

CCU plays the underdog card even when they are the favorite. Time to embrace the bullseye, it’s a fun place to be, can’t wait to get it back.

Are any of you guys/gals aware of any COVID issues on your side?

There’s a vague caution by a player parent on ours, suggesting Saturday is in jeopardy, no reason given. Haven’t heard of much on our end. I sure hope not.

CCU plays the underdog card even when they are the favorite. Time to embrace the bullseye, it’s a fun place to be, can’t wait to get it back.

Maybe next year.

This is why every conference wanted 2 week buffers before CGs. Don’t care what anyone says. Issues 4-5 days standard incubation period came after what... hmmm? Travel and a game. Smh. Hurts us all.

Let’s pray for the best.
