I would be there for a Tiffany reunion... I Think We're Alone Now is an absolute banger.

We don't have the freedom to attend an outdoor football game in one of the freest countries in the world. I'm in my 30's with no underlying health conditions. This virus poses less risk to me than driving a car and about 100 other activities I participate in. I'm responsible enough to avoid "high" risk individuals. Yet I can't attend a f'n football game because my government tells me I'm not allowed. I can attend a BLM rally with tens of thousands packed shoulder to shoulder, but I can't attend a football game with social distancing. Screw this cult media and government overreach BS. It's a damn shame that the government is preventing the players and fans from enjoying one of the most magical football seasons our school has ever had while turning a blind eye to so much BS.

Guys, there really isn't much to debate here...the answer was talked about previously. Ohio State was only allowed to have 1,600 people in the stands this year, and there was no way we'd get away with having more. End of story, no need to try to find anything else or complain about Covid, our administration, etc...this was another in the long list of things that OSU's control of the State House has caused us to deal with.

This is hilarious... love when the politics board leaks. Keep on fighting the deep state brother.

UC dragged their feet on the waiver and then didn’t fight to get it approved. It’s what Pinto Bean wanted.

Only reason they asked for the waiver now (wink wink) is so they can point to the state and shrug their shoulders. We already had approval for 1,500 from the preseason edict of 10% capacity or 1,500, whichever was lower. Could have requested the waiver before the 1st home game. Glad the Bungles have figured out Covid so that they can have up to 12,000 if there are still that many in town who actually care.

If this was Ohio State they would have fought like hell for it, there would be 20,000 approved and we all know it.

While it is on the line of political, I don’t think it is political to suggest there is an arbitrary and selective nature to some of the shutdowns. Politicians in both major parties have been guilty of this. We have seen politicians impose lockdowns in their states while at the same time attend rallies, dinner parties, large funerals, marches, etc. In Ohio Mike Dewine attended the Ohio High School Playoffs, which were allowed bigger crowds in a smaller venue than the AAC CCG.

Here is an excellent, balanced editorial written by a physician in The Atlantic. We need to be more consistent/less arbitrary in these lockdowns and stop pandemic shaming people who want to see family and/or want to gather if they take appropriate precautions. Failing to do so only makes people more embolden and likely to engage in unsafe gatherings.

In other words, DeWine didn't make the call. Some OSU graduate flunky in the Governor's office did.

Emperor Dewine is an incompetent clown. "I don't know what happened" is substantially worse than just saying no. I'd disagree considering Bengals and Browns have been playing with fans but at least that would sound like a component response. You're making decisions on what your citizens can and can't participate in and you don't know how your people are making these decisions. Unacceptable.

I bet there is a backtrack with a larger allowance, maybe a few thousand more.

I want in. My guess is being a first time football season ticket holder this year isn't going to get me in.

5,831 will be allowed in.

"The state of Ohio has approved 5,831 spectators for Saturday's American Athletic Conference championship game at Nippert Stadium.

Records show UC requested up to 7,838 spectators (24.1% of capacity, which is higher than the 15% of capacity allowed under the Sports Order)."
