Yeah that ticked me off too.

But later someone posted that Shaq is from London which is why he spelled it that way.

They also think they’re this great state school academically and that it’s better than going to a private school

RE: UMass
Just watched UMASS lose to Bryant. Their future lottery picks were no shows, today. The best part of the game was the halftime show whey paid tribute to the '96 final four team. They talked about their "proud history" and plans to celebrate the 25th aniversary of that team. I kept waiting for them th mention that the NCAA took away those tourney wins and their 150,000 tourney winnings because their best player was being paid but that didn't come up

RE: UMass
NU hosts UMass tomorrow night at 7pm. The game can be seen on NESN.

If NU contains their guard Noah Fernandes and win the battle on the boards I love our chances.
They typically have a lot of alums who show up for the game, but I also think since it’s UMass we’ll have a good crowd from our end too.

Sounds like it's their good three point shooting versus our good three point defense. I think we should be okay on the boards. Vegas has us as 1.5 point favorites.

RE: UMass
NU picks a solid 82-76 win over UMass.

Another great effort despite Telfort getting hurt (the injuries) and UMass holding down Doherty and later had 4 fouls. Telfort did come back in the second half but let’s hope he’ll be good on Sunday.

DJogo and Vito with some big baskets off the bench. TSG, Strong and Shaq also with provided some offense.

McClintock was out with a boot on his foot. Every game there’s a new injury we don’t know about. It’s really frustrating but NU is still getting by.

I’ll have highlights and postgame later.

It’s always sweet to beat the so-called flagship…

RE: UMass
This team, even with their turnover flaw, is competitive....... with TSG And Djogo in the top eight. They fall behind....and they come back. They go ahead..... and they hold on. Shaq is making me crazy dribbling instead of passing. Can someone tell him to stop? We miss not having a true point guard. Shaq isn't it but neither is Glenn who is steady but doesn't generate assists. I think we're starting to learn how to play without Tyson.

Shaq let Fernandes get all up in his face and forced him to turn it over on multiple possessions. TSG has share handling the rock in that instance.

That’s going to be a problem at times with smaller guards defending Walters. He will have a height and length advantage but he doesn’t handle the ball well enough consistently to keep them off his dribble hand.

One of the reasons why I loathe UMess is they still live off their 90’s glory days. Multiple people on their boards called this a “bad loss”.

That team would lose to JMU, Hofstra, Delaware CofC and I’ll throw in Drexel too. They’re not impressive at all.

RE: UMass
I was at the game tonight. It was a weird game with stretches of awful play and turnovers followed by 6-8 excellent minutes. The last 8 minutes was basically Djogo, Shaq, TSG, Strong and Vito. Vito is playing beyond my wildest expectations so nice to see him contribute again. We have a lot of options for lineups that Coen can go to so it will be interesting ow that plays out from night to night once conference play starts. We are only 3 weeks away at this point. On to Davidson. Would be nice to beat them once. It's been a while.

What about W&M? Now THAT would be unimpressive!

I just wish that when he gets the ball into the frontcourt he would start the offense like McClintock does. Why does he keep dribbling ?

UMASS reminds me of a couple of NU teams that relied too much on the three. They will win when they shoot the lights out but without A 10 height or depth they are going to have a lot of "bad losses."

03-lmfao Yes it would! I would definitely be pulling for the Tribe in that one.
