We've gone 30 years without a legitimate coach - nothing about NC State basketball is compelling.

You're referring to Valvano, who is best known for his natty, but Herb Sendek was 22–10 (10–6) in his final season, which was his 5th consecutive NCAAT appearance, too. Not sure why he wasn't respected a little more.

It's almost to the point where it's not even fun seeing Duke lose anymore. Even if there were fans in the stands, they'd have stopped storming the court after beating Duke. Boston College wouldn't storm the court if they beat Duke this year.

If you think Herb Sendek was a decent coach I have some land to sell you in the Dismal Swamp. Sendek sucked donkey balls. Valvano also had two ACC titles, to ACC regular season first place finishes, and two elite 8s. His last team was screwed out the elite 8 by a bad call in the Georgetown Sweet 16 - the official later apologized.

In the 8/9 and 12 team ACC a *** **** moron could have won games at NC State and that's what the moron did and choked every single title game and game of consequence. The prior 4 coaches won the big games. Herb Sendek was run off by Arizona State for the same suck coaching he applied at NC State. 22-10 is ****. A decent season means over 20 wins and less than 10 losses. Sendek was not respected because he used the threat of taking recruits with him if he was not extended. Sendek was not respected because he did not have the backbone to tell K to **** off during big games. He was a milksop - a coward. That's why he is at Santa Clara right now picking their pocket.

Dean Smith and K loved Herb. That should tell you all you need to know. If Tony Bennett loves your basketball coach it's not a good sign, is it?

The ACC is so bad this year Pastner is a legit threat to win it. If only he'd have bothered to practice before the third game. Josh Pastner is cheap to fire at year end. I hope the GTAA keeps it that way.

UVA is a real good team. Final 4 potential. Shredded Cuse's zone last night.

Josh Pastner's best is just good enough to play Coach K's worst close before losing. Kinda says it all.

Hopefully the UNC NCST game is more competitive.

VT's rebounding was atrocious.

Cuse has @UVA next. Will the winning continue?

If you think rebounding was atrocious that night, wait until you see it without Tyrese Radford in the lineup.

If it makes you feel any better...our rebounding vs UVA was atrocious.

UVA sure looks like a F4 team to me. Cuse and VT are somewhere in the middle of the ACC. Boeheim is following the Beamer, Bowden model of retiring too late

Maybe he wants to get to 1000 wins again before he retires.

The VT @ ND game on Wednesday was some UGLY basketball.
VT won but just about anyone in the ACC would have beat us that day.
Fortunately for VT, ND played even worse.
I'm not expecting much against UVA this weekend.
We have had better luck against them at home in recent years but they look good and we look like crap.

The thing about a rivalry game is that anything can happen, and it often doesnt matter which is the better or higher ranked team. Upsets can and often happen.

NC State loses leading scorer Devon Daniels for the year to non-contact ACL.

Maybe not the men's team but the girls are very compelling. Played a heck of a game in Blacksburg today.

We are missing our best girl due to Covid protocol - hope to have her back soon but the loss to VT followed by a trip to Louisville without her will likely cost us a Number 1 Seed in the NCAA. The technical name for such things is NC State S.H.I.T

Another Saturday full of ACC basketball. Clemson @ Duke at noon on ESPN2 and then a quadruple header on ACCN.

Duke way out on top of Clemson early. Duke favored by 5.

Great games by GT and VT. VT will probably be a top 15 team on Monday.

I knew VT had a chance. Didnt think they would blow Virginia out though.

ND went to Pitt and beat the Panthers 84-58.

Who saw that one coming?

I think that is the first game all year where ND played like I thought it would this season.
